I replaced the two original air filters on my 2014 Mercedes Benz SL550 today at 16,000 mi with these Mann C3397 filters, they were a perfect fit. In fact they are identical to the originals I removed, see the photo of the originals with the same Mann C3397 next to the MB part A 278 094 00 04, along with the debris that was sitting on the old filter shown. Once you pull the filter housing up from the snaps on the engine and remove sensor wires you will need a Torx 25 driver to loosen four screw on the underside of the filter housing. Remember to order two filters if you have the V8 twin turbo. I also replaced the Cabin Filter with a Mann C3397, also an identical replacement, only one cabin filter which is located under the panel located beneath the glove box.

The Filter is the exact filter replacement as OEM, with the same number on it as the OEM original.
I was disappointed that both filter boxes where beat up when arrived but relieved that the filter inside each was perfect. One was shipped without being placed in an envelope or box.
Looked like it came all the way on a boat from Europe….

The filter is a perfect fit for the M157 engine in a 2014 E63s. It takes around 5 minutes to swap out the filters per side. All you need is a flat head screwdriver and a torx bit. The filter box is mostly held in place with friction tabs, so it’s ridiculously easy to DIY. Once you do it, you’ll never pay the dealership (or your indy shop) to do this ever. Unless you like forking over hundreds of dollars for no reason.
1. Loosen the two intake and outtake hoses to the airbox. The intake is just plastic tubing that you remove with gentle force. The outtake has a ring clamp holding the rubber molding that is loosened with the flat head screwdriver and then pull back.
2. Pull the airbox up and out
3. Unscrew the 4 torx screws
4. Open the filter box, remove the old filter and dust out the inside, and replace with the new filter.
5. Do reverse order to put this filter box back in place, and then do the other side.

Ich hatte 2 dieser Filter für die erste selbst durchgeführte Wartung an meinem W221 gekauft. Zuvor hatte das Auto alle 2 Jahre neue Filter im Rahmen des MB Services erhalten. Daher waren auch zuvor die originalen MB Luftfilter verbaut.
Es handelt sich hierbei um die originalen Filter, die auch MB verbaut, nur sind diese mit einer gesonderten Teilenummer bedruckt. Daher passt der Filter ohne Probleme in den Luftfilterkasten.

Filter appears to be the same as OEM one as others mention: (same part number printed on filter and same brand manufacturer -just without the tiny Benz logo at the end). This part number fits my GLS 550 perfectly, just remember to order 2 for twin turbo. Interestingly, I had to research outside of Amazon description and vehicle fitment search as a 2017 GLS 550 isn’t accepted as a vehicle for this part on Amazon and this seems to be an error.
