Wanted a new speaker that didn’t clash with my apartment. For the size it is loud but the audio is extremely clear, even when at max volume. Speaker looks great and is very high quality. Used it while working on my truck this weekend for 8 plus hours and it held a charge the entire time.

The Kilburn II is just amazing, the clarity of the sound is very well balanced with the power of the bass.
Battery life is incredible.

This Marshall speaker “blew me away.” The sound is amazing! The sound that comes out of this speaker is unbelievable! It sounds like a regular size sound system. The clarity and bass is out of this world! I purchased it on Prime Day and got an awesome deal! Marshall has a reputation of being a leader in guitar speakers. Believe me, this sounds like a giant speaker! The value for the money is top knotch. We had no trouble with the connectivity. I highly recommend the Marshall brand.

This is a great sounding Bluetooth speaker. The tone controls allow you adjust bass and treble to your liking.
The only reason it falls short of five stars is because I feel that battery drains faster than other bluetooth speakers I’ve owned.
It holds a charge but definitely not as long as my old JBL Charge 3.
Battery life aside, it’s the best sounding Bluetooth speaker I’ve heard. Solid bass and clean highs. It’s super easy to pair with your phone, and the aesthetics are outstanding. This thing looks cool even when it’s off.

I cannot say enough great things about this bluetooth speaker. “Established 1962” is what you will see when the box is first opened. Marshall amps were at the birth of 1960’s rock. Guitars were getting louder , and equipment needed to be tough and handle the rigours of touring in those early years. Marshall became the “go to equipment” for many bands. The Kilburn II reflects exactly what Marshall has been all about over these 50 plus years. No fuss ,no muss. A high quality bluetooth speaker without gimmicks. No fancy lights, extra digital features, (ability to charge my phone, skip songs.) But simply a kick ass sound with knobs that can adjust volume, treble and base with a high quality feel..(yes a high quality knob takes time to perfect, just ask Honda and Toyota) and Marshall has succeeded.
Battery power lasts between 10 and 20 hours depending on volume, and that is just sick!
This is all included in a beautiful casing surrounding a middle woofer and two tweeters on either side.
The sound quality is exceptional for a speaker this size. A port and speaker at the back provide extra “depth” to the sound. If you place the speaker on the counter in a corner..watch out .the bass comes alive!!!
The faux leather belt provides a beautiful feel to it’s portability which I do from room to room, because I can’t go anywhere without it. I can travel from the basement to the second floor without losing bluetooth connectivity.
A bonus for me is that it is water resistant if you have to walk in the rain for a distance..but not waterproof. Being waterproof would mean different material used which would sacrifice quality of sound anyway.
I consider myself a “audio junkee”..I have many headphones..speakers and have used many amps in my career. This Marshall Kilburn II is one of the best purchases in audio equipment I have made.
Easily pairs at the press of a button and goes to “sleep” if not in use to save battery power. Up to two phones can be paired at the same time. An AUX input at the rear if not using bluetooth is very handy.
Yes, they could add more gimmicks, but if that moves the price point higher, or lowers the quality of this product, then forget it.
Very well done Marshall
P.S crazy quick delivery to my door too. 2 days!

Well I’ve had a lot of different bluetooth speakers and headphones. I don’t think I can say this is my favorite but it’s the one I’m keeping.
Many others are lacking in some way, too big, too quiet, not enough bass, treble is too bright, etc. I know of other louder overall speakers. I know of ones with more bass, longer battery life… Etc. However this is the right amount of sound output, sound quality, battery life, portability, ease of use etc for ME. My lady gets frustrated with buttons and complicated pairing methods. Analog dials are easy for anyone and everyone.
Sound it is a nice middle ground on a lot of things. It’s not over boosted anywhere and it sounds warm and natural to me.
Loudness it goes just short of 100db. Come on… It’s a portable speaker. If you need more than that then a portable speaker probably isn’t what you really need any how.
Distortion is minimal if non existent. Crank it up and let the good times roll. It’s a little expensive compared to other options but I like it’s build quality, I like it’s asthetic, I like its sound. It feels well made to me. It looks cool and a little different. I love how portable it is. 5 pounds is perfect. Grab, go, set, enjoy. Just that simple. I’ve tried all 3 of their bluetooth speakers and this is really the Goldie Locks of the set for me. Not too quiet, not too big, JUST RIGHT!
Check it out. Not for you OK no problem all our ears are different but especially as a refurb this was a dealio! Get it. Buy it. Do it now! GET TO THE CHOPPA! DO IT NOW!

The first thing you need to know about this review is that who is this coming from.
I have been an audio equipment enthusiast since the age of 8 when I tore apart our beloved Philips Cassette player and added cheap tweeters to it to get more “clarity” in the sound. I have been reading, auditioning, experimenting with almost all budget brands and I have more often than not found out that price does not always determine the quality of a product. I have auditioned a $2000 Grado headphone, and the sound wasn’t as impressive as a Ground Zero headphone which I purchased for around $50 – nothing to take away from Grado, it was a great headphone but the sound wasn’t nearly as “real” as GZ (GZ has only ever produced that one headphone by the way!). To me, the people behind the product matter as much as the product itself, not the brand as much. That is why I have an Audiotec-Fischer setup in my car, not JBL or Sony. I just cannot compromise on quality of sound. It’s not Brax because that’s a very high price point for me.
Cut to Marshall Kilburn II, which I received this morning after waiting for 62 days, owing to the lockdown. As soon as I opened the package, I could see “Estd. 1962”. Beneath that was a neatly wrapped speaker which is the highlight and just the charging cable – that’s it. I don’t usually bother with product manuals unless I get in trouble and the internet can’t solve it, in which case the manual is pretty redundant anyway.
So, I turned on the 30% default charged speaker, placed it on a table top, connected it to my phone within 10 seconds (yes, it’s that fast even for the first time), played my favourite song, and was instantly satisfied, not blown away, but satisfied. Then I placed on a shelf in the kitchen, and cranked up the volume a little and fiddled with the bass and treble controls to suit myself. This is where I was blown away. How does one fit so much sound in so little, yet make it sound so clean. As I write this review, I’m playing lossless media on it via Aux, and it sounds even better. It’s like it can perform on every level. Maybe I’ll get an A&K Kann sometime and see for myself. My point being it sounds as good as the source, which is the true test of a speaker.
During this course, I have played Metal, Pop, Jazz, Indian Classical, Rock, Hard Rock and Folk music on it, and it’s at home with all these genres.
Everything about this speaker is high quality – The sound, materials, build, design, connectivity, and yes, the knobs.
If you need an amazing speaker which is built as good as it sounds, lasts 20 hours on a single charge, looks stunningly classic, easy to carry around while you can manage a small hole in your pocket, I see no reason not to go for this.

Took the Marshall Kilburn II Portable Bluetooth Speaker out to the beach the the sound quality is amazing. It has some nice deep bass for its size. At full volume the battery is still holding pretty good.
