The first thing I noticed about these boots is their exceptional comfort. Right out of the box, they felt like they were custom-made for my feet. The cushioned footbed and supportive midsole provided ample support during long hikes, reducing fatigue and ensuring I could keep going for miles without discomfort. Even during intense climbs and descents, these boots offered stability and confidence, thanks to their well-designed construction.
Durability is another standout feature of these boots. Despite countless hikes through rugged terrain, including rocky slopes and abrasive surfaces, these boots have held up remarkably well. The tough outsole provides excellent traction on various surfaces, giving me the confidence to tackle challenging trails without hesitation.
In terms of price, I don’t think you can get much better then this for you unless you get lucky at a goodwill or fb marketplace.
In summary, if you’re in the market for a dependable hiking boot that can handle the plains and mountains, look no further than these boots. Comfortable, waterproof, and durable, these boots are a true asset for any outdoor enthusiast. Highly recommended!

These are the most lightweight and comfortable boots I’ve ever owned. I spent a ton on Salomon boots, only to have them fall apart after a few months (with no warranty offered), I’ve burned through a dozen Keens. All of those other boots had to be broken in for weeks to even begin to be comfortable; not the case with these. They felt and performed great out of the box.
Even in wide sizes, this is the only boot design I’ve ever worn for hours without hotspots where your toenails press against hard material or the tight toebox.
The appearance and comfort is appropriate for daily wear, hiking, and range use.
$100-130 for a set of perfectly comfortable, durable, lightweight, high-traction boots is a fair value. Highly recommended.

I’ve been wearing Merrell Mid hiking shoes since 2016. My previous two pairs were Moab 2, and I’ve been very happy with the wear, fit and waterproof qualities. Right out of the box, I noticed that the Moab 3 looks to be even sturdier then the Moab 2. The sole has a more aggressive tread and the toe and heel are more reinforced. The fit is sturdy and the insert seems to have a more significant arch support. I read some reviews reporting that the sizing runs a little small, and I notice that they seem to fit snug, but that might be because they are new.
Some reviews report that they are not waterproof; as of this writing, I haven’t had an opportunity to test that facet. I don’t use Merrell’s for necessarily just hiking, but more of a daily wear during the colder seasons and inclement weather (although I do occasionally hike with these). They have always been very comfortable, so I am looking forward to the Moab 3. I will update this review, once I have experienced wet conditions and after a break-in period.

I was always doubtful, after reading many reviews about hiking boots, and I wanted to make the right purchase and be satisfied. I concluded that I should order half a size larger, so as not to make a mistake and to be sure that they would fit me accurately and comfortably. After looking at several different brands and models of boots, both due to price and previous experience with a model that I really liked, I decided on the Merrell Men’s Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot, and I use them very often in my daily activities, and from the moment I received them, they fit me perfectly, comfortable and precise with the arch of my feet, they allow good ventilation, when walking on steep terrain they grip the ground firmly; I clean them easily after use in dusty or swampy areas, I still have to try them on long walks and see their performance, but so far with a few weeks of use I feel that they are perfect for me.

I am just beginning to take up hiking and after a bit of research decided on these Merrell boots. One of the key features that influenced my decision was that they are waterproof. I live in the Pacific Northwest and winter and spring seasons tend to be pretty wet. I’ve been on a few hikes and have found these boots to not only be waterproof, but well made and comfortable as well. I will admit that in a previous review (since deleted) I got it wrong. Turns out walking through very wet tall grass water will get in through the ankle, I don’t think any waterproof boot would have prevented this. On subsequent hikes my feet stayed completely dry. I even “retested” them by aiming a shower head directly on them and still 100% dry on the inside.
As I mentioned above, I found these boots to be very comfortable, even on longer hikes. I’ve hiked on a variety of terrain including pavement, dirt, sand, gravel, and river rock and found the traction to be more than adequate. Sizing seems to be accurate as well and having wide feet found the wide width shoes to fit my feet perfectly.
I highly recommend these boots.

I hesitated before buying these, as I had a pair of low Merrells that were not comfortable nor waterproof. I I was a faithful Timberland buyer, but they have really cheapened their boots. So, I finally broke down and bought these as they come in a wide width and were rated fairly highly on several different “best of” reviews. They were comfortable right out of the box. Wore them to mow very wet grass and feet remained dry (only time will tell how they fare in Adirondack weather). I also wore them on a hike into a remote lake up north, good traction and protective footbed. The price is moderate, there are cheaper boots, but these seem pretty rugged in comparison. I hope to get several years out of them.

I ordered my third pair of Merrell Moab boots. My first two pairs lasted 2,000km! I actually never had a blister!!! They are the best for me.
Great hiking boots –
Loved everything about these boots including the color, durability, easy to break in, decently lightweight and comfortable. Only negative is after a long hike feet felt quite warm, little ventilation but thats probably with most hiking shoes

These boots fit the instant I put them on and really are waterproof. I bought them not as hiking boots but for general farm work and we’ve had a wet spring so there’s been lots of opportunity to test the boots. These were size 12 wide and getting boots to fit my wider foot has always been a challenge. These are more than worth the price.
