The Mixpresso electric kettle is small and sturdy, but is the perfect size for me and my needs. In other words it would not be suitable for a large family if everybody wanted hot water at the same time! It does the job perfectly, boils water quickly, looks good and so far I haven’t had any problems, let’s hope that continues for a few years. I once had an electric kettle that survived at least 10 years. It still works, but has a leak, I keep it as back up, just in case this one goes out. I had one that lasted about three months (different company) and luckily got it replaced, that one lasted about the same time and got it replaced then that new one lasted just long enough to outlast the warranty and I couldn’t get it replaced so that is when I changed to the Mixpresso. Have had poor luck with electric kettles within the past year or two. Therefore I am a little dubious.

Received this item and as soon as I opened the box the smell hit me. I tried washing and airing it out but could not make it go away. It was so bad it turned my stomach. I had to send it back

This is a beautiful kettle and matches perfectly with my red retro toaster. It’s easy to use and heats up in no time. I love how the vibrant red color pops on my counter. Well worth the money.

We are on the second one of these. (with two in the middle that were not this one –one died quickly, and the other was too large for our (age related) ability to lift with even less than its designated amount of water).
We chose to get another of these because the first one lasted a long time (a kettle of any kind gets a great deal of use in our household) — this one has been going strong for at least 4 months now. No flaws — only a few design suggestions 🙂
It does have a little window to see how much water is in it and to ensure not to over-fill it — but its only on one side –favoring right-handed people which is typical of most, but, still, unfortunate.
Because of its size (not too big) it gets away with its on/off switch being high up on the handle as oppose to the “paddle” at the base that many have, which tends to be easier on old shoulders.
One feature I thought would be a hindrance (but turns out to be ok) is the opening of the lid (to access pouring the water in.) On many that have it in this position (on the lid itself) there is an issue of getting “steam” burns under certain circumstances. However, this one masters that aspect well (no steam hits the hand.) Once again, though, it might be more useful to have it incorporated close to the base. or perhaps on the handle. — But to be fair, because it is the SIZE that it is (which is perfect for us) it works very well and, surprisingly, all the features work as they are supposed to.
My suggestions are driven not, so much, by MY use, but another member’s of the household who is disabled, and must be seated to access everything including this kettle. It works for this person, but quite a bit less efficiently than it does for me, who can (more nearly) stand over it like most traditionally-abled folk are able to do.
Nevertheless, the price is right (or was when we bought it LOL) and we are very pleased, because it has a capacity size that is rare, and meets our needs, plus it doest have to be replaced every six months. its a winner!

I really like this red kettle, compact yet full size, holding 1.7 liters. Comfortable handle. Interior boiling surface is stainless steel. I like the blue light while it’s on. Easy to fill, quick boil, reliable auto-shut-off.
Pours very well for all my needs (coffee, tea, cooking). It the best kettle I have owned in the past 30 years and the price is awesome too.

I definitely like this simple to use and fast heating little kettle. Just hit the switch and the kettle turns itself off when the water is boiling. Takes about 4 minutes when full. Need a reheat? Hit the switch again, and often it is only 30 seconds before it is ready for another cup of tea. I also make coffee using a single serve stainless steel filter right in the coffee cup. I don’t have a big Kurig taking up space on my counter. The teapot is good looking, and I like the side window for assessing how much water is in the kettle. The curved handle while aesthetically looking is a bit cumbersome, especially if my hand is wet. It could use some sort of bump to keep it from sliding at the top and bottom. It is a little awkward when pouring, but since it is a small capacity, it isn’t too bad. The filler cap is very light gage steel, so I worry about damaging it, so I must be careful not to bump it, or drop the kettle. Use caution when there is steam in the kettle when opening the filler cap because steam comes out. The little kettle makes varying noises when heating to a boil, which after a time tells me the progress the kettle is getting close to boiling. I wanted a larger capacity high tech tea pot, which I also ordered. The other is large capacity, 1.7 liter, (which amazingly takes 8 minutes to come to a boil) and has a 1 hour temperature hold function and I usually select 200 degrees on hold, or boil and auto turn off. I now have them at opposite ends of my kitchen on different electrical circuits, so I have boiling water ready all day. First thing in the morning I hit the “on” buttons for the tea kettles with leftover water from the day before, and heat the leftover water on my stove from the steamer. I then dump the old cold dishwater out of any dishes in the sink that may have been soaking over night (not always) . I fill the water sprinkler for my plants with tap water on hot to utilize the cold water in the pipes till the faucet spurts out hot water for the tea pots. Once I have the old boiling water, I dump them on my dishes to soak, and refill the teapots and steamer with fresh hot tap water for the new day, and hit those “on” buttons. I divert to some other chores (feed dog, cat, outdoor birds), and then when the hand dishwater has cooled a bit I do them up. But the boiling water really loosens up stuff like dried milk in the bottom of a glass or other crud.
