ONLY DISLIKE – trying to keep it lit in windy conditions is extremely difficult. Recommendations for this issue are in the manual. But I came up with my own way to remedy that problem safely.
LIKE – *Price, *Safety compared to other propane heaters. In my opinion. It still gets an estimated 400+ degrees front and center on low, beware, but the sides and top stay cool. *Portable, no plugs needed. *1 direction heating (Forward Only) . *3 Reasonable settings in my opinion. Personal (LOW) settings, (HIGH) for heating larger ventilated space. I compared this to other standup electric and 360 degree propane heaters that can be used in a shop, garage, patio ect. Wind is still your enemy of a propane heater and standup heaters not matter which one you choose. The 360 degree puts out mass heat everywhere. They work great for putting out 2X extreme heat, BUT NOT IF YOU HAVE LITTLE KIDS AROUND. BEWARE: I barely scraped my jacket against the 360 heater screen, Not the Mr. Heater screen, and cooked it pretty good. I’m going to rope it off somehow if I use it again. This item is not a toy and keep away from little kids and drunk adults. You will get burned if not careful.
*Depending on your situation. This one fits best for my home patio use when watching football on my outside TV. Unfortunately my outside plugs are on a 15 AMP Breaker which carries a large load already on that breaker. The 1500w electric heater trips the breaker if we are running to much power at 1 time. After researching and using other types of 1500w electric and a couple propane heaters for home use. I’d still prefer an electric heater that blows hot air for my personal use but, this unit gives me the portability-no plug no problem. Personal and shop use. Hope this helps before you buy propane or electric heater.

Works freaking great. Obviously it lasts longer on low. But still the longest lasting I’ve had so far. It heats my RV just fine.

The heater works fine once you get it started but it can be a bit of a effort to get it to ignite. My only big complaint is no matter what I do the wheel on the front keeps falling off. IF you do buy this it may be a good idea to buy some Teflon tape or maybe some lock tight for the screw on wheels. Other than that it works amazingly well. Come next winter I will probably be buying a 2nd one of these for the common areas of my home.

We keep this on hand for emergencies. When the power goes out I have this heater available. So easy to use and it puts out a lot of heat. Great value.

Update: Just received my new heater. It outperforms my Dyna-Glo heater. Puts out more heat, and has a bigger heating filament. Very easy to start. Just follow the instructions. The quality seems perfectly adequate. Its not the prettiest heater but I like that it is portable. Also. I like the automatic shut off feature. Was easy to assemble, for me anyway. I’m 57 years old with arthritic hands.
This will be my second cabinet heater. I live in Maine, in an old 60 foot mobile home. The home has new windows and is weatherized, but it needs to be insulated. The walls are thin, so the cold just radiates from them in the winter, and the heat dissipates quickly once the heat is turned off.
I have a new oil furnace which takes premium kerosene. The price for K1 kerosene has been outrageous the last two years. So I have experimented with using space heaters, propane and electric. By far, the propane has proven to be the best choice. Electric heaters just use so much electricity, it’s as expensive as just buying kerosene. But propane is pretty cheap here. I pay $17 per 20 lbs tank, which holds 4.7 gallons. I currently have a Dynaglo propane cabinet heater, and it works great. It provides instant heat, with three heat settings. On high setting, it blasts the heat. I only turn it on high for a few minutes to take the chill off, then turn it back to low. I turn it off at night because the temperatures here are still mild, but soon that will change. Right now I have gotten four days out of a tank, and it’s still running. For $17 a tank, that’s a good deal. Yes, once cold weather really sets in, I would have to turn the heat up to keep the living room and kitchen warm
However, I believe that with one more cabinet heater at the back end of the trailer, I should be able to get by with running them both on low, once I get up to temp. I may have to supplement with the oil furnace, especially at night on the coldest nights. Just to keep the pipes from freezing. But I can set the thermostat at 60 for that purpose. I still think the propane heaters will save money versus just running the furnace, because in the coldest weather, it runs constantly, on top of the electricity it uses to run the blower. Kerosene will probably hit $6 a gallon soon. I would use several gallons a day on the cold days. By the way, I have a small oscillating fan on top of the heater to distribute the heat (it’s a metal fan) which helps alot.
Some people go into a panic about using these heaters indoors due to carbon monoxide risks. In my case, the exhaust fans in the bathrooms run automatically throughout the day and night. Also, the trailer is just not airtight, despite the weatherization, so any carbon monoxide being produced is escaping through the cracks. During the day, people are coming in and out throughout the day, so there is fresh air coming in that way. However, you can buy a carbon monoxide monitor for less than $20, and some heaters have automatic shut off, if levels get too high.

This is a very good unit. My sun room is kept Reilly comfortable. Even at 15 degrees C. Very easy to start and operate.
Amazon Customer –
It has a very good heat, but unfortunately, it is not suitable for a closed space at all, and a very unpleasant smell wafts inside the room.

Bought several over the years. We use them in our gazebo at our camping site for the cool spring and fall days. In the past we purchased the other Mr. Heaters. They worked well but made with plastic which breaks into pieces over time because of the heat. And the propane tank has to be beside the heater. This one, the propane tank sits in the back. Furthermore, it’s on wheels and the casing is metal. Great product and quite safe. The top and sides remain cool at all times. Our advice, however, would be to close the gas tank BEFORE turning the knob of the heater to off. This allows the gas to escape the hose. Otherwise it tends to leave a residue around the pilot (over time) and it will jam. This may not happen with this particular product because the hose is very short. It tends to happen with the other Mr. Heaters because the hose it longer and builds more residue.
