You honestly can’t get anything better than the MSI MPG Z790 Edge Wifi motherboard. As someone invested in MSI products, it’s safe to say I’m a little bit biased, but this motherboard has all of the bells and whistles you could possibly need. I bought it due to it supporting 12th and 13th gen intel CPUs as well as DDR5. I intend to keep this PC build, and hence the motherboard for a long time, so I wanted to future proof a bit.
The BIOS was a little lackluster – as I couldn’t find a way to manually select booting from my 2TB M.2 SSD, although it was recognized. Unplugging the 2.5″ SSD rectified the issue and allowed me to install windows directly to the M.2 (although it still didn’t show clearly in the boot order). Other than this the BIOS is intuitive and user-friendly.
The build quality of the board is very nice, overall I have no complaints and it holds up well so far – (I admit to a minor unintentional drop and it sounded rough, but nothing broke and there’s no issues.) The labeling is intuitive, and you have many, many plugs and ports. (you’ll never realistically be able to use all of the M.2’s and SATAs, but you have options for many drives if you have an extensive game library.)
My two chief complaints with this motherboard are the instructions in the box and the price. The instructions are vague, uninformative and have no words – only pictures and QR codes that link you to videos (which are somewhat helpful but just give me a description!). I highly recommend going to MSI’s website and downloading the full user manual for your motherboard, as it will answer all your questions. Regarding price: you can buy other, less flashy motherboards for significantly less than I paid. Even more so if you stick to DDR4 motherboards. My desire to future proof and use MSI however, convinced me to pay the price I did.
Overall, great motherboard. It’s sleek, has an RGB gaming dragon logo integrated into it, has an ez debugging LED system (very useful), and a pretty easy to use BIOS. I will come back to update this in the future if anything arises.

Works great with 13900k & rtx4090 & tforce ddr5 6400mhz with xmp on from bios setting.
Taking 1 star off because the internet did not work out of the box.
It requires ethernet network driver to be install. It was bit frustrating during the clean win11 os installation as it requires internet connection. I had to hook up my old pc again and download a ethernet network driver(msi website) to a usb drive and had to be install during OS Installation. My 7 years old Mb did not had this problem.
Overall, I think its great looking Mb especially for a white aesthetic build.

Motherboard quit after 2 months of use. Wouldn’t recognize ram. Rma’d (took about a month full turnaround) having to pay almost $60 to send in for repair, and got the exact same motherboard back with the same issues.
Sent it back again (2nd RMA), with another month turnaround, and got a different motherboard back. That mostly didn’t work (not recognizing RAM in slots) and quit after 2 days. For a 3rd RMA they wanted wanted to ship same way – which would be another month turnaround. To get a different motherboard sooner (cross-ship), they wanted $400. No consideration for all the time lost with the non-working equipment, or time and cost having to remove and replace motherboard multiple times. No meeting half way.
STAY AWAY FROM MSI!!!
In over 30 years of dealing with companies and computer parts I’ve never experienced the like.
Will never buy an MSI product again and I highly suggest you don’t either!
Motherboard had all the right features for a market typical price. But no price is worth the hassle of this company.

this is one of the the best motherboards in the market that has all the features that you need if you are building your dream PC
it support the latest gen technology like DDR5 for up to 7200mhz OC , gen5 PCI-E, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, 8-channel (7.1) HD audio with audio boost 5, easy BIOS update with M-FLASH and more
overall happy with my purchase and highly recommend.

This is a great motherboard. With basically no compromises. So many motherboards only allow one to use so many input at the same time. I have six M.2 drives attached to this motherboard. Five directly, and one through a pcie slot.
The performance is great. I am running a 13 700 K with 64 GB of ram at 6400.
It just works well.
It is the second Edge Wi-Fi that Iโve had. The first one was AMD, but this one is obviously Intel.
Definitely worth a buy .

Good board..only issue was wifi drivers weren’t installed. So if ur upgrading the MB like I did download the drivers first before you take the computer apart lol.. otherwise it booted up right away and works great!!

A solid board with a lot of ports, modern rear I/O, solid VRM cooling, and solid power delivery that doesn’t break the bank! Installation was a breeze no problems out of the gate with my i7 13700k, 6k mhz DDR with XMP enabled. Didn’t have play with timings or voltages to get the max frequency of my RAM kit. Happy to say there is ZERO coil whine on my board which is refreshing after returning a Gibabyte board for that very reason. I know it’s not a defect, but it’s very annoying especially if you have sensitive hearing and are in a quiet environment. Ethernet wasn’t working out of the box but was rectified with updating the drivers. I just connected to wifi to bypass that “issue” which to be fair, I can see as an annoyance. Looks great in my black Lian Li Mesh II RGB case and I have zero complaints. MSI fan boy for life!

My three cents:
I got this board to help my friend build his new gaming PC. Right out of the box it’s working and running stable without any issues. I like the Wi-Fi 6e support, fast NVMe storage options, and versatile connectivity options. The motherboard’s build quality and components are top-notch, and its overclocking potential is enhanced by an optimized power delivery system. However, its RGB lighting options are limited, and there are fewer USB ports compared to some competitors. Despite these drawbacks, the MSI MPG Z790 Edge WiFi is an excellent choice for those who want a high-performance, reliable gaming motherboard.
Pros:
– High-quality build and components
– Advanced Wi-Fi 6e support with dual-band 802.11ax
– Multiple M.2 slots for fast NVMe storage
– Versatile connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2
– Enhanced power delivery for overclocking
– Good value for money compared to similar high-end motherboards
Cons:
– None
