This is an MSI Gaming RTX 3050 LP 6G OC graphics card with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 chipset, 6GB GDDR6 video memory, 96-bit memory interface, and boost clock speed of 1492 MHz. The graphics card supports DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.1a outputs.

I bought an HP Envy desktop recently: Specs HP Envy Intel i7-14700 32gb ram(also installed myself up from 16)\ Windows 11 1TB SSD
Other than the new ram I bought this thing prebuilt from Best buy but since this is gonna be a workstation for music and and design I wanted a graphics card a bit beefer than the integrated graphics on the PC. The problem, HP desktops use proprietary parts so I couldn’t upgrade the power supply. That’s where this graphics card comes in. This little thing doesn’t need its own power supply from the PSU. It gets all it needs from the motherboard. It’s as simple as popping it in and downloading the drivers. I didn’t buy this graphics card to run games though just some 3D software and some video production and it does great. I did download Minecraft just to see what it would do and it ran flawlessly so do with that what you will. Its a perfect addition to beef up a prebuilt PC.
So i got this just to add on to my other GPU so that my other monitors would be connected to it while the main one for gaming is connected to my RTX 3080. Definitely great and especially for that price.

Me like many other people who bought this needed a gpu that was low profile and didnโt require external power. I have yet to test, but itโs roughly 20 percent slower than a regular 3050. This may seem significant until you realize that this draws almost less than HALF the power of a regular 3050. The only other option for a no power cable card is lower end NVIDIA cards and some AMD cards that are generations old. (Besides the 4060 Lp). Turn the resolution to 1080 and graphics to medium/low, and your $150 dell optiplex is now a 120fps capable esports machine. Some AAA games can even run 1080 60fps if optimized correctly.

70W power good for business grade desktop and Towers computers
I bought this for an old refurbished Point-of-Sale PC from Microcenter that I’ve been using as a security camera server. The 4th gen intel CPU does not support quicksync video transcoding so recording was chewing up CPU resources. I popped this in to take that load off and am using the rest of the graphics card to contribute to Folding at Home. It gives pretty good folding scores per watt.
The only negative to this card is that the small fans are very noisy above low speed. I’m using Afterburner to keep the card at a lower power target and to limit fan speed. Working well now.
I did test one game on it just to see (Riftbreaker) and it could maintain 60 FPS on high settings at 1440.

I needed a GPU that could run my programs and not require a power connector. This little RTX 3050 does the job well. I was skeptical that it could handle light gaming Blizzard Games, Herizon Zero Dawn, etc… and video editing. It does all the above with just 6gb on board memory. I pulled my AMD RX 6400, removed drivers and installed the Nvidia GPU, loaded drivers and all went perfect. If you are going from an AMD card to a Nvidia card you must remove any drivers. I give the RTX 3050 an A plus…

The low profile 3050 6gb card surprised me with its performance on my 11 year old HP prodesk 600 g1 sff with an I7-4790 and 32gb ddr3. Can actually now modern game titles like cyberpunk 2077 at 1080 and averaging around 55 to 65 fps on high settings. I know a lot of people will think that sucks, but it’s perfectly playable for me on my older rig. I’m not an avid pc gamer that needs the best of the best. I know better cards can be had for the price, but I required something that was a low profile with no power plugs due to the low wattage of my proprietary power supply. So this fit the bill perfectly. Don’t hesitate to get one if you need a low profile card. Very satisfied with my purchase
