New Age Pet ECOFLEX 36″ Medium Mojave Reptile Enclosure

As an avid reptile enthusiast and keeper, it is always a challenge to find enclosures that are affordable, sturdy, and provide enough space for a particular animal. I have recently had an influx of adoptees in the form of 3 male leopard geckos. For those who don’t know, you cannot house males together, they will eventually fight. I have the low profile glass aquariums, but they are (to me) to small for the two larger males (Giant genetic morphs), so I took a shot on the Ecoflex.

This is one of the easiest enclosures I have ever put together, with clear instructions and all the parts and tools needed. Because the whole thing isn’t glass, it was very easy to build upstairs by my work desk and bring back downstairs to wipe down and prepare for one of geckos. No part of it feels unstable, and Atlas has immediately gotten cozy.

A huge bonus is that the apartment I share with my roommate is decorated with grey and black furniture and shelving, so the grey composite material the walls are made out of matches our home decor PERFECTLY.

Also in regard to what the enclosure is made of, nothing seems to stick to it, which makes cleaning a breeze. I have switched all of my animals save a few to a non-porous matting for the bottoms of their enclosures for ease of cleaning, and if anything gets under that it will still be easy. Overall a fantastic product so far, and I may need to order two more down the road.

I needed new enclosures for my ball pythons after my cat managed to punch through the screen top of the glass exo-t enclosure. The EcoFlex enclosures turned out to be a surprisingly inexpensive well built option. They are very easy to assemble and being plastic are impervious to water, but care must be taken to not over-tighten the screws as you can snap the threads out of the mounting holes. As with all PVC enclosures, you do need to run a bead of silicone around the seams to make them leak proof. They are light weight and extremely easy to clean/sanitize. The screen top is well secured and can support a 14 lbs. Ragdoll cat with minimal bowing but best to keep your kitties off it if possible because the mesh is only secured with a handful of small staples. When the glass door lock is in place there is no way for your pets to escape. Heating them enclosure is easy with a 50-80W deep heat projector and lighting with those smaller aquarium LED from that NICE company. This combo easily maintains temps and supports live tropical plants.

They are very sturdy when not stacked but the tops will bow when using the riser designed for them. New Age Pet should re-design the riser to fit around the outside edge of these enclosures so the weight is on the walls/corners and not in the center of the top. Because these have a large open screen top on them humidity management can be a challenge. I resorted to using clear vinyl and sealing off 2/3 of the screen to keep the humidity at around 60%.

Overall these are well worth the money and will last years but need a better riser if you plan to stack them. That’s the only reason I gave 4/5 stars on the enclosure because it should be able to handle the weight of a seconds one with how they designed it.

I love this enclosure, for the price and size it is an amazing deal. Looks beautiful and is very easy to put together (I also like that is breaks down flat so I can either store it or transport it much easier if needed).

The only thing to be mindful of is because of they way it is built the bottom edges are not water proof so if you use wet substrate or they spill their water it will leak out the edges. Easy fix though, you can just run some aquarium grad silicon around the seems and then give it time to fulling cure before adding the animal.

Since I will be moving soon I didn’t seal it as I want it to be easier to break down, so instead I got one of those “pet dish mats” for under the food/water dishes that has tall sides and put that under the water dish so if my snake decides to soak any spillage is on the mat and not leaking out.

This enclosure was super easy to put together and it looks so nice with my room! The doors slide easily and it makes it easy to access my baby. Great product! I recommend getting the smaller one for a smaller creature, such as a gecko. It barely fits on my dresser lol.
