This is a nice sheet music stand. However, this is really narrow and doens’t hold books of sheet music. It barely holds the width of a sheet.
It also doesn’t have anything to help hold the sheet music on the stand.
It’s an ok solution in a pinch, but it isn’t a great one.

The stand’s surface and connecting arm are made of fairly heavy “gig-ready” metal – meaning it can withstand being dropped, banged, and packed tightly with no worries over bends or breaks.
All knobs tighten easily and have that “ain’t going nowhere” feel to them that’s essential when you want to focus on so much more than your gear.
One knob lets you adjust the surface angle fully over a nice range of motion – from about 80 degrees, which I find readable from a foot or more back from the stand, all the way to dead horizontal, which can nicely hold accessories like capos, slides, finger picks, cloth, etc. It can also double as a drink tray, but I digress…
Assembly is a breeze, three Philips-head screws with an included wrench.
All that said, I had an admittedly non-standard (is that a pun?) use in mind that the stand could not handle out of the box.
In addition to clamping to a vertical mic stand, I wanted to clamp to horizontal surfaces such as my desk to hang the stand off of while I’m practicing and recording. I have one of those desktop book stands but it takes a lot of room and keeps my eyes too close where I can (and have) dinged instruments on the desk edge. A music stand that juts out 6 inches or so like this one would keep my instruments at a safer distance.
I also keep a large keyboard against a row of bookshelves with a full size music stand behind it. That’s clunky and takes up more of my (tiny) room than I’d like. Being able to clamp the music stand horizontally to one of the shelves and have it sit over the keyboard would save space. A thin piece of particle board lets me extend the width of the stand as needed.
What’s the simple mod to achieve this? Those three Phillips screws are set in an inverted triangle shape that forces the arm to be connected with the clamp positioned vertically. It doesn’t take a lot of geometry to see that adding on more hole – turning the formation into a square – allow me to position the arm and clamp horizontally. Punching that hole in the metal took a little time on the drill press but was definitely worth it.
However you intend to use it, the clamp on stand is well made and fills a number of niches.

I am basically using this as an accessory tray with my drum kit to hold various things, including a small mixer and iPad for my tracks/in-ears set up. This was my intended use when I ordered this but if you are planning to use this for music, understand that this is not the same size as a normal music stand. It is about half the normal width. And depending on what you clamp it to, it may be a little tight or hard to use this for sheet music. Although, I could see this being a great add-on to a normal music stand to hold more or larger pieces that are spread out.
Overall, I’m happy with it or my use. I think it’s a great utility piece and functionally, there are no issues.

I’m putting together a large Frankenstein-ish solo rig that includes many synths, a MacBook running Ableton Live, an insane amount of cabling, etc. One aspect of this is the RC-500 looping pedal, where I wanted multiple possible inputs. So I dug out the small but mighty Xenyx 1202 USB mixer, mounted this handy tray on a mic boom assembly that’s in turn mounted to one of the keyboard stands, and voila! It’s plenty sturdy to hold the mixer, and is actually the perfect size for it. And yes, it could hold sheet music as well. My only caveat would be to make sure you mount it to a sturdy stand if you’re going to use it to hold anything other than paper. Recommended!

I’m not that great of a guitarist so I use a music sheet stand to place my guitar fingering charts on that, and then use this clamp on music sheet stand to hold a tablet that has my music tabs on. I also use an Android Bluetooth page turner to turn to the next page on the tablet and all of this works great in sync. All of these little things add up to make a great experience and let me focus on what is important, practicing and playing the guitar. I used to fumble when I first began flipping through fingering charts and tabs, and I would play on the couch which makes playing difficult as well as sheet placement. We all have to start somewhere.
The stand can accommodate a clamping bar of 14-30mm. It stays put thanks to the grip installed and doesn’t ruin any surfaces. It is heavy duty and depending on how you place it, make sure you place one leg of you footing in that direction too so that it doesn’t tip over.
Sheet stand is well made, comes well packed, with no manufacturing defects or issues. No sharp edges or flanges either.

It’s great for single sheets of music or to hold a small tablet/ipad with electronic music sheets on it! 👍. It’s built like a tank and is super easy to install and use! It’s def portable and can be taken anywhere! Over all, it’s just plain useful! 😁

This is better for tablets or single sheets of paper. It isn’t wide enough for the music book I usually use. But it is made durable and well.

The build quality is very solid, and the weight implies a good quality stand. It says the maximum pole diameter it could latch onto is 30mm (which is around an inch and and eighth), but I wouldn’t be surprised if I could accommodate something thicker. Right now it’s on a one inch pole, but given how far in I had to screw the attaching apparatus, it should easily work with something larger. The stand is more narrow than a traditional music stand, but for my purposes, it’s fine. Right now it’s holding a legal pad that I jot down notes and synth patches onto, and it seems ideally suited to that width.
