Norton had always been my go-to antivirus program. I bought the download to replace McAfee that came with my computer when it expired. WHAT A PAIN it was to install. I took virtually hours and I know my way around a computer very well. The download would freeze as I waited. I had to reboot several times to get some movement. When it was finally installed (I hope) and I was prompted to check the security of this or that it would try to UP-SELL me, one aspect was for $99. Then I’m prompted to run a Utility check and THAT also was an UP-SELL. Enough of the scare tactics and wanting more money. I ordered this off Amazon and yet Norton has my credit card information?? And just TRY and find the option to stop the ‘Automatic Renewal’. All said and done after the ‘install’ I can’t say that my computer is protected. Never, ever again, Norton.

1. Most of the โchatterโ that you hear is incorrect and made up by people that like โfree stuffโ
– ie: it takes over my computer, conflicts with other programs. Etc.
2. This Amazon version requires you to sign up for auto-renew to register it (that is why it is cheaper for the year subscription) but you can cancel the auto-renew right after you register your current copy. Enjoy the small cost for a great product.
3. You really canโt install antivirus on an infected computer, it will cause issues installing, running , and updating any antivirus software.
4. You should have your system professionally cleaned up before you install any antivirus. Norton supplies a tool to help you if your system is in a โbad wayโ called Norton Power Eraser, NPE โ which is a free download. Run it first to get most of the really bad stuff, then you can install your new Norton Antivirus
5. Every company tries to upsell you to get more money and to sell you more options for their products. 99% of people are better off with just antivirus, you donโt need track eraser, VPN, firewall, backup, and many other features that is available from Norton. (sorry Norton, ie Symantec corporation) The more you install, that you donโt really need, the slower your computer will be and it will also affect your internet speed and connectivity to secure sites if you are running any VPN software.

I use Norton because it ranks up there with others that are considered the best security suites. It is so much better to buy it here than thru Norton’s own website – where they drive you crazy with their “auto renewal” – OMG, they are the worst with their pushing you for ‘auto renewal’. I strongly suggest buying it here on Amazon at DEEP DISCOUNT as a one-year thing, and when it runs out, return to Amazon and find the lowest selling new Norton security suite, and buying that for one year. Anything is better than having the money-grabbing Norton drive you nutz.
So this is good, I recommend it. AND if another security suite has a top ranking from PC Magazine next year, I will fly to that one. Don’t stay glued to the same suite – find one that works the best for you!

O M G. I switched to Norton to GET AWAY from constant ads/notifications to “upgrade” from Mccaffee – Norton has EVEN MORE and they force-close my games if they’re in full screen mode.
I paid for what I wanted. Stop.

This program has turned into a piece of crap. After purchasing and attempting download and install, I was told it would not support my PC. Do not purchase!
I am not a high-tech person. I finally figured it out and got it loaded and installed. Sorry about the original evaluation. This product is good!

I’ve had Norton Anti-Virus installed on my home computers for the past 6 years and am happy to report it does what it claims to – keeps them virus free and running well. It’s easy to install and simple to operate. I especially like the option of right clicking on a newly downloaded file and using Norton from that menu to run a quick scan on just the one file. Now the “Greedy” part of my review title… Boils down to two things. 1. When your Norton plan is about to expire Norton begins showing you pop-ups telling you it’s about to occur and offering to sell you a new subscription. No problem with that. What I don’t like is the price they offer you from the pop-up offer is usually twice what you’d pay through most online retailers. Very insulting considering I’m already an established customer. If anything, offer me the best price to remain one! 2. What many others have stated in their reviews – Norton now forces you to input a credit card on their site so they can take a shot at auto-billing you when your just purchased subscription expires. Of course that auto-billing will be at the higher price as stated previously. They are hoping you’ll forget about the auto-billing and be able to hit you for the higher cost next time around. Greedy. Also, no subscription service that’s already purchased should be able to force you to enter a credit card when there’s no need for any further charges. Greedy. Yes, you can find the switch within your Norton.com account to tell them not to auto-bill you when your sub expires but, as may other reviewers have noted, no customer wants to be forced to do that! Norton – read these reviews and try to find one that says “I love Norton forces me to enter a credit card so they can try to auto-bill me later at a higher price than what I’ll pay through other online retailers because I’m so absent minded they’re saving me from myself!” Good luck finding that review.

It was easy to install. I immediately ran a full scan & then a clean up of duplicated photos & documents. I had been getting notifications that my Mac computer had a virus threat before purchasing. The software identified 9 Trojans & put them in quarantine. I feel better with the extra security and all has been going well since the scan! Peace of mind is worth the investment.

Software will NOT open or download! I Keep getting the following message: “Your subscription to LifeLock has been cancelled and your account no longer has accesd to ITPS features. To re-enroll click here to visit our product page. Error: 32030.” When I click on the aforementioned link, it requires me to purchase the software again!!
