This piece looks delicate but is quite sturdy. The colors are vibrant! I was expecting something more pastel/subdued, which made me a little disappointed because—for me—it’s a bit “loud”. However, you can see from the photos that it is very lovely. It makes a wonderful gift.

This orchid brooch really is impressive! I purchased it for our 28th wedding anniversary since on-line research indicated that nothing was specifically traditional and symbolic for the 28th anniversary other than an orchid being the 28th anniversary flower. So I had to find something in the nature of an orchid that wasn’t perishable like a real orchid and something my wife could cherish and wear as a memory of our 28th. This beautiful orchid brooch was indeed the right choice. I was impressed that it was crafted by obviously skilled artisans in Thailand in a socially responsible way, and my wife was impressed by its delicate appearance but durable craftsmanship, as well as by the fact that it is one of a kind like any blooming orchid, and like her. It is symbolism and beauty combined, and no doubt I will see her wearing it often on different attire since she says it will match a lot of her outfits. I very seldom write any Amazon product reviews, but I feel that this uniquely special product deserves my enthusiastic thumbs-up! Anybody intrigued with exotic orchids, with finely crafted jewelry, or searching for a 28th anniversary gift as I was cannot go wrong in choosing this item. My thanks to the talented Thai jewelers who have the gift of transforming something beautiful but ephemeral into something beautiful and timeless!
