Nutrivein Premium Berberine Capsules

No effect

This product helps lower my desire to eat. I’ve lost 3 lbs in a month since I’ve started taking Berberine. The capsules are somewhat large and filled with a bright yellow powder. They have no taste. I was really pleased with the quality of this product!

A Consumer Reports article on Berberine products found a number of the tested products to contain much less than claimed on the bottle, and some having no Berberine at all. The NutriVein product was not one they tested. So, I decided to do some simple at-home tests of this product. I weighed 15 capsules individually using a digital scale that can measure down to 1 milligram. The weights of the capsules were all over the place, ranging from 775mg to 909mg each. The vegetable capsules themselves are size 00 which weigh about 125mg empty. That means the capsule contents ranged from 650mm – 784mg. The bottle says no fillers, preservatives, etc, so the entire contents must be Berberine. Since the capsules are advertised as 600mg capsules, then the actual measured weights would indicate you’re getting up to 30% more in each capsule??? Odd. Berberine is too expensive for a manufacturer to be that far off.

I then did another test of the capsule contents. Berberine powder is very fluorescent under an ultraviolet light. I have a special ultraviolet flashlight that I use to detect leaks in automobile coolant and A/C systems after adding some special dye. I opened a capsule and spread the contents on a paper towel. Yes, shining the flashlight on the powder showed a very bright yellow fluorescence, as it should for real Berberine. I then sprinkled on a different supplement that was a plain white powder. The white powder was nearly black under the fluorescent light, but when thoroughly mixed in with the berberine, the mixture still showed a bright yellow fluorescence with no dark specks visible. So, it would be hard to tell if any filler is used without more sophisticated tests.

The product does work, but the effect does not last throughout the day. One 450 – 500mg capsule three times a day has worked best for me the past few years. Berberine has a half-life of about three hours in the body, so it’s best to spread the dosage throughout the day for stable blood sugar. Based on the weights of the capsules I tested, three of them would be way beyond my usual 1500mg per day total. Taking one capsule twice a day leaves a big gap in between. I decided to go back to my bottle of the Vitamins Because brand containing 450mg capsules of Berberine.

Recently bought a watch that could monitor sugar levels – this berberine product is most helpful in bringing down the glucose number – couldn’t ask for more.

I’ve never heard of Berberine but the studies I read moved me to try it. However, with so many name brands and sizing per serving I didn’t know which one to get.

So, after reading all the reports, the feedback, and the ingredients I decided on 1200 mg NUTRIVEIN PREMIUM BERBERINE+ with ORGANIC CEYLON CINNAMON.

After about three weeks of using this product I began to notice that I was feeling better – a lot better – and in trying to figure out what I was doing different it dawned on me that the only thing that I added to my daily routine was Berberine.

I am 67 years old and have a few health issues including hip replacement.

My doctors gave me medication for the pain from my surgery – which caused my blood pressure to go up; they gave me medication for my blood pressure which caused fluid to settle in my ankles.

Then they gave me medication for that which is causing neuropathy in my right hand and foot, etc, etc, etc.

I ended up going from 0 to about 7 different medications – in just a matter of months!

The side effects from all the synthetic chemicals were causing more problems then help.

So I figured I would try the berberine. All the information I read – and I read quite a bit – lead me to try it out.

Now, I would never tell anyone to quit taking their prescription medication, but about a week ago I decided to quit taking mine and I feel better than I have in many years.

Everything seems to have normalized. My blood pressure is great, the neuropathy is disappearing, I’m able to walk better, I’ve even lost a little weight. I know this sounds too good to be true – but it is for me. My doctor has even asked me what I’m doing different.

I feel certain that I will be taking this product for the rest of my life.

I’m sure we can all agree that our golden years aren’t so golden – we deal with so many health issues but researching, thoroughly researching, and adding this supplement has made me feel better so I can appreciate and enjoy the few years I may have left in life.

Now I am free of all of the synthetic prescription drugs that always have some type of side effects.

Please understand that I’m not making a medical proclamation, I don’t want any trouble from the FDA.

I’m just saying that adding this supplement to MY daily routine has made MY day more than just routine – it has made the quality of MY life much better!

A quick follow up: although I really appreciate this product and have benefited from it, in less than 45 days the price has increased by over 50%. Although I said I will be taking it for the rest of my life I may have to look for an alternate because being on a fixed income it has been priced out of my range.

ONE MORE FOLLOWUP:

A label on the bottle says that if I do a review on it I’ll get a free bottle, but yet when I click for the review it says the FREE BOTTLE is no longer available. However, they gave me a 20% discount ($4.00) on my next purchase but they went up $10 on the bottle.

Good product, bad greedy marketing. I’ll buy berberine again, but not from these people.
