I looked at a lot of knife sets before deciding on these. Look folks, there are knife sets at many stores out there. I actually bought the set I’ve owned for over 20 years at a knife store, and over time, they were a disappointment. I struggled to keep them sharp, even though they were supposed to be good quality knives.
Food prep with bad knives is unpleasant. They’re also dangerous, requiring force vs finesse. Much easier to hurt yourself.
But these knives arrived, well-packaged, really to clean and slide into the block, which is quite attractive. The whole set in one block, unlike my previous set, which requires two separate blocks.
These babies are sharp! And I do mean sharp. The Sentoku blade slices through frozen sausage like it’s butter. I used the utility knife on summer sausage to slice thin, even pieces for snacking. They make food prep a joy!
They clean easily. I do not run them in the dishwasher, hand clean and dry, then back in the block. Never put wet blades away.
They are comfortable in my hand. The scissors are also very sharp, and very useful in the kitchen. Steak knives are serrated, and will slice your entreé meat beautifully.
I’m completely pleased with this set, and love that I can recommend them to others.

Knew nothing about this brand – and man, I do now. My wife loves these knives. Great handle weight, ultra sharp and really sleep design. Why would you spend 2x or more for the same product? You can’t go wrong with these.

This is a high quality knife set. The knives feel comfortable to hold and cut with. They stay sharp a long time. I’ve only had to sharpen the one I use many times a day. The holder is good. even though it sits on the counter under the cupboard above, the knives are easy to remove from the sides.

Knives are heavy, sharp and well made. I bought these because the Oderfun web site claims the knives are handmade in Germany. Right on the box I saw the made in China and almost sent back. It is a good set for the price and American or Japanese sets are 4x+ more. I try to avoid buying Chinese and attempt to buy USA made.
