I’ve been blessed to have a full head of thick hair, but there are times it CANNOT be tamed.
When kept short, this pomade works well but seems to lose hold halfway through the day. I can run my hands through it to bring back some life but ultimately it will drop again in a half hour or so.
To be fair, I’ve ranked it higher as I know my hair can be difficult! There are more aggressive products out there, but I prefer the way this product feels.

It will give me a wet look until I brush it out. Thinning hair isn’t the best for the wet look so I’m sure to brush it out pretty quickly.

My goal was to find a replacement for the American Crew Pomade that I’ve used for years, as the price has kept creeping up. If you’re looking for the same, look elsewhere.
First and foremost, on the plus side, this product is a great deal. The price is lower and you need to use a lot less each day, so it lasts longer.
But what I’ve found after using it for several weeks is that I have to make a choice. I can use a little less and my hair doesn’t get crunchy and it washes out easily, but the hold is not enough, and I have all these little stray hairs sticking up. Or I can use a little more, get adequate hold, but then my hair feels hard to the touch and it takes two shampooing to get it all out the next morning.
I’ll live with it for this batch, but I’ll continue my quest for an American Crew replacement after that.

I like this product. It’s always reliable. Only issue I have with it is it is quite stiff and gets oily quickly. Once the hair is set, it is hard to make minor adjustments.
