First of all I tried the vanilla and the chocolate flavor. Please do yourself a favor and only get the chocolate flavor. Listen, the chocolate flavor is the same in every other brand protein shake or mass gainer because they all use cocoa powder. So if you like chocolate you will not be surprise when you taste it. Compared to the vanilla one which has a very unique taste that I did not like. Just get the chocolate one.

Also, the servings say two scoops but if you have not seen the scoop it is the same size as a detergent scoop. It is even hard to take it out of the bottle. One scoop is enough for one serving (625 calories). If you do decide to take two scoops space them out throughout the day. I do not recommend this though since you should be getting the rest of your calories and nutrients from real food. One scoop every day is fine though.

Ok, so how did I mix it? I used a electrical blender. I have used a shaker bottle with the metal spring ball thing before since I did not have a electrical blender in my college dorm. But it taste much better if you blend it with an electrical blender because you will not have large clumps. Also, you can add other ingredients if you like such as peanut butter (chocolate flavor + pb taste freaking good just like reeses cup). Peanut butter adds more calories and protein to your shake. Do not take this mass gainer if you are not working out at least 3 times a week. You will simply gain a gut around your stomach area unless you are anorexic. Even if you are anorexic, you should still work out. And if you are like me and are still looking to add calories to your serving, add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil (120 calories), and you will not taste as long as you drink fast enough so the olive oil does not float up after you blend it.

So my shake usually is 1 scoop (625 calories, 24g protein), 12fl oz of milk (225 calories, 12g protein), 2 tbsp of peanut butter (190 calories, 7g protein), 1 tbsp of olive oil (120 calories). Total of 1160 calories, 43g of protein (hopefully my math is correct).

With all of that being said, I recommend to buy Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein (Extreme Milk Chocolate flavor) instead of serious mass because this gainer has a ton of carbs. The first ingredient is Maltodextrin which is normally found in soda and candy. You save a lot of money also since the whey one has more servings.

Last advice, use MyFitnessPal app if you have trouble gaining weight. Make sure you are actually hitting your calories goal. I used to think that I had a fast metabolism because I ate so much. But in reality after I calculated the calories, I was far away from hitting 3000 calories.

I gave it 5 stars because it worked for me. I went from 145lbs to 160lbs in three months. Yes I gained fat but also muscle because I worked out. I no longer take this after finding ON 100% Whey. Much cheaper per serving, a better selection of flavors, and a lot less carbs. Yes, it might not have the calories but you can definitely create your own mass protein shake by using the correct ingredients. Google svunt shake if you need an idea of creating your mass gainer with whey protein (it has 1659 calories and 95g of protein).

Optimum Nutrition is my favorite brand at the moment because of the taste of their protein supplements lack the chalk taste that other brands have. I really like it overall, and I think it is helping me put on mass/gain strength.

Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass Protein Powder offers 50 grams of protein & 1,250 calories per serving- which is substantial. As you’ll see from my pictures it also carries a ton of vitamins & minerals one should have on a daily basis. The ingredient quality is wonderful. Now these pictures are not shown on the Amazon description page for this product. What also isn’t shown is the fact this 6 pound jug I purchased for my teenage Son comes with ONLY 8 SERVINGS PER CONTAINER. 2 heaping scoops blended with 24 ounces of fluid to your liking gets what shows in my blender. It’s a drinkable amount with no problem. The chocolate flavor he likes. I’ve found it’s best to mix with milk as water tasted too bland. My issue is I felt I was misled in purchasing this 6 pound tub & not realizing there would be only 8 servings I’d get out of it. Since no pictures or written description mentions this, the buyer has no idea. The jug is enormous but is literally 1/2 full. I do feel there is 6 pounds in here but why waste so much plastic? At $45 a jug I’m undecided on purchasing this again. He just began taking it. After 3 uses he’s gained 4 pounds with lifting twice. Bottom line a quality product but an expensive one. I hope my information helps in your decision to purchase the jug or not.

What they tell you. It tastes great and is a good supplement to build mass.

What they don’t tell you. Each serving consist of 2 huge heaping scoops of powder and 24 ounces of fluid (water or milk). This combination results in 48 ounces of liquid delight that they claim is a single serving. On what planet is 48 ounces a single serving? To put this in perspective, that is 2 full to the brim Shaker bottles that are intended to be consumed as one serving. 340 grams of powder from one serving translates into 3/4 of a pound of powder. Again to put this into perspective, the huge tub of powder you will recieve equals ONLY 8 advertised servings.
The other thing they don’t tell you is the powder is so fine and gummy that the only way to prepare the drink is to use a full sized blender. No Shaker bottles here. Preparing this mix is a mess. The powder is so fine that it creates a gummy mess that adheres to the side of the blender like Venom on Eddie Brock. Prepare to spend a significant amount of time coaxing the paste free to get it to properly mix.
Great protein mix, but I sometimes I feel like it would be easier to eat 5 chicken breasts too reach the same calorie goal, than to put down 48 ounces. I realize that it can be broken up throughout the day, but so can multiple meals. There is also the option of using another protein supplement with a realistic serving size, multiple times a day. In the end, I feel like that is all they have done with this product. They have combined a multiple dose, throughout the day protein powder into a single serving, trying to advertise it as a solution that they obviously have not solved.
