Oster Toaster Oven, 4 Slice, Black (TSSTTVVG01)

Oster has always been a reliable brand for value, durability, and function. This little oven is great. The racks allow a lot of adjustment options. The controls are, thankfully, simple and straightforward. The oven heats quickly and cooks evenly when baking, broiling, or just making toast. It has two heating elements on the bottom and on the top. It’s not a big oven, but the size is ample for most small jobs. It comes with a little aluminum pan. It has a removable crumb tray. The timer has a good bell to let you know when time’s up. The oven is built sturdily, no rough edges, things fit together as they should. It is made in USA. Overall, this toaster oven is both a good deal and a useful/practical purchase.

I got only as far as the 5 minute new oven preparation stage and already knew it was a fire and burn hazard. When the unit got hot, the door developed a hitch when opened about 1.5 inches meaning you have to hold the unit down to get the door fully open and the entire oven was too hot to touch. I would NEVER walk away from this unit. I got this oven because it had the smallest footprint, but you would need a lot of counter space if you want to put it far enough away from the wall (6 inches recommended) and all other items that might melt or catch fire. They even warn you that the countertop could be heat damaged if you run the thing without the crumb tray in place. I’m sorry, but it is not worth burning down the house. I find this unit to be very poorly made.
Additionally I think the controls suck. To toast a piece of bread, you need to turn the dial past 10 min then back to guesstimate the toast setting. Which means you have to guess every single time you make a piece of toast rather than being able to set a slider switch or point to a specific setting. Then it loudly clicks away like an old fashioned egg timer till it is done and the bell rings.

I shopped around online for weeks after my old GE toaster oven just finally gave out. I decided on this beautiful retro looking one because it actually had 4 heating rods (2 top and 2 bottom) like my old toaster oven. The others I looked at only had 2 (1 top and 1 bottom.) I have not used it yet as it just arrived and I just set it up. It’s a beauty and takes up much less counter space than my old one. This was so well packed and shipped out fast. It toasts very well. Not sure why but the glass starts fogging up at first when it heats up It goes away after a while, so its no problem for me. Also please see my photos. Thank you.

This toaster oven is exactly how it looks online. It works great; it toasts and heats up the food exactly as you like it. I would highly recommend it, if you are looking to buy one.
