ย The cage was really nice came in 3 days but the instructions were so bad it took me forever to get it together but my bunny was not happy when I put her in there she was so scared and I didnโt realize how small the holes were and she couldnโt fit to go up and down so I kinda diy it and cover the holes and glued all the carpet down and now she goes up and down all day and all night itโs vary easy cleaning too because the bottom tray pulls out to dump the litter eventually Iโll get some cuter rugs for inside and get her a better cave bed ๐ just so happy she loves this cage

I bought this cage for my ferret Peaches. It arrived a week earlier than estimated which was great! Everything was easy to unbox and easy to assemble with tools included. This was nice and roomy for my girl and she was adjusting well until 2:30am when I hear a huge crash from the cage! The removable tray which is supposed to just slide out came crashing down with her in it! I ran to the cage to find her standing just next to the tray which was hanging halfway out of the cage. Not sure how or why it came off the rail but I will be ensuring something is under the cage at all times to ensure that doesn’t happen again and eventually hurt my girl.

Update!!! This cages door hinge literally broke off and my chinchilla escaped and attacked my other chinchilla. If I could go back in time I would have purchased something more high quality then this. I’ve had to use so much JB weld on this it’s ridiculous. Now even worse, it can’t even keep my chinchilla inside because the little latch popped out of the socket!!! I’m livid as I’m writing this on my way to the emergency room right now for my pet.
I’ve owned two of these large PawHut cages for about 3 months now.
Size: Size wise it works well for my baby’s. One of the cages houses two chinchillas, which has been plenty enough space for them to play but also have hideouts, ledges, and toys of all sorts. It could definitely work for three chinchillas if need be. You can divide the cage into two smaller cages as well, but even for one chinchilla it’s a bit small.
Material Quality: Quality is the BIGGEST down side of this cage. In both pictures attached I have two areas of the cage where I’ve had to use JB weld to stick parts back together. The leg was flimsy and bent so my boyfriend bent it back into place and had to use JB weld as the part you stick it into became lose. Additionally, the bars of the cage don’t all connect to the bottom, so when my chinchillas used their wheel to run it broke the two bars because the walls aren’t secure enough. So we ended up using JB Weld to to connect it back into place. Would love to see in the future that the cages come with more or all bars connecting to the frame. Additionally, do not love how in some areas the coating of the cage is coming off from the chinchillas chewing it.
Floor/ledges: It comes with a plastic bottom that is so flismy that it bends and bows with my little critters on it. It is also not safe due to it being made of plastic, so I replaced it with a wood cut out to slide into the bottom. Additionally, the ledges are all plastic so I threw mine out. You can always put fleece over the ledges but mine pull the fleece up.
Cleaning/using: I really wish that there was either two big doors on the side or one big one on the front. It’s so hard to attach ledges or other things by yourself to this cage because you can’t wrap your hands around all the way in some areas. I do love how you can remove the side door, which helps a lot. I do also love how the front has a small door so that my babies don’t start jumping out when I open it. Super easy to clean, but the double doors would help a lot!
Final thoughts! Great cage if you are on a budget but prepared to make your own adjustments or fixes occasionally. Pro are that the size of the cage is great, especially for 1 – 3 chinchilla, and love detachable doors. Cool that you can split the cage in half as well. Cons are that things can break easily and require small repairs and paint comes of if your animal is a chewer. Additionally, floor is super flimsy!

Very well made with lots of configurations. The only caveat is the wheels. Made to tighten but come loose easily if moved and are easily stripped when trying to reassemble back on. All in all a very solid cage, pleasing to the eye and easy to clean with the lower drawer.

Bought it for my pet rats, but it’s so big and spacious it would work for any medium to larger rodent, ferret, guinea pig, chinchilla, etc. It went together in about 30 minutes, and the only problem I had The parts are a bit confusing because none of them are labeled. that’s where most of the time spent putting it together came from, cross referencing parts to pictures of them to make sure I had the right one. All in all its definetly a good sturdy cage, my mother is getting one for herself because the size and price is perfect for her birds, she says if she takes out the platform levels and puts in bird stuff it’ll be perfect for her cockatiels, and much cheaper than anything officially “for birds”. I love that the one side is doors that fully open for easy access to clean or add decorations

I just got this & had it set up today (Jan, 24,2023). I bought it on the 20th & it arrived in 4 days with everything it’s supposed to come with. The instructions were clear, had good pics, & took my husband about 30 mins to build. If you’re getting this for a ferret, it looks like you might need to put grip tape down or covers for the ramp so it can get up & down. I dont have mine yet so i dont know for sure yet. The wheels work well & have locks. The doors all open & shut. The latches are decent but i may get something for better security. I also have kids so thats why.. It’s very spacious & plenty of room for 2 ferrets. I wouldn’t put in more than 2 although I’m sure you could. This seems to be a good cage. Others reviews say this cage is great all around for it’s price & that it holds their animal without fail so I’m hoping that’s true too. The only problem I have is that fed ex smashed my cage during transport and some of the panels & bars are bent. The damage is so minimal that I’m not going to bother w contacting anyone. If you’re out shopping for a new cage, I hope my review helps you.

I wasnโt sure what to expect with this cage because of mixed reviews, but I am really glad I chose this cage for my chinchilla. Itโs spacious, sturdy, but not so heavy that itโs not easily moved around for cleaning. My chinchilla seems a lot happier in this cage and thereโs a lot of great opportunities to provide enrichment. Excellent cage and well worth the price!
