These sticks do a great job in letting you know quick and easy, how your brake fluid is as well as your coolant. Great purchase even though they are a bit pricey in my opinion. I’ve used these on 5 of my vehicles and only one needs brake fluid changed. The coolant is fine in all of them. This saves unnecessary pricy fluid changes when you don’t need them.
As mentioned, although a little pricy, they took the guess work out of whether a brake or coolant fluid change is needed.

I learned about automotive fluid dip sticks recently and bought these. I tried one in each car and they worked fine. This would be a good idea to test BEFORE you take a care into an inspection or any kind of service, so you know what the status of your brake fluid and coolant is. One of my cars had low PH in the coolant (the tech seemed honest) and it was fine after the change. Note: The coolant in one of my cars was impossible to reach, so I used a pipette to retrieve some fluid. This is an awesome way to know for sure if you need to change your coolant or brake fluid. Helped save me money and accurate! Very easy to use. Quality is great given it’s packaged individual.

Been using annually for about 6 years now. Has certainly saved a lot of time and money over flushing coolant and brake fluid simply on a 3-5 year schedule.

Had an issue recently where some coolant tested rather acidic. It was lifetime coolant so I contacted the manufacturer. They requested a sample and the result was that the coolant was fine. Turns out my test strips had expired and the result was a bad reading.

I contacted the Phoenix Systems customer support and they were excellent. They told me that while the strips are good for up to 36 months, there is always a chance that Amazon shipped older stock. They sent me a sample of fresh strips and it confirmed that the coolant was fine.

Now when I purchase a new package I write an expiration date on it for 2.5 years out. I think it should prevent this issue in the future.

Only recommendation to Phoenix Systems would be to add an expiration date to the package during manufacturing.

Even though it was a bit of a waste of time chasing the false reading, I’ll gladly keep buying from Phoenix Systems because they were super helpful in resolving the issue.

Tested the rad fluid on both cars, fluid is good for continued use, therefore saving money on rad flushes. I will test fluid again next year.
