its a very nice plane jane , has bluetooth feature, not bad for power it has , very clean sound, but onkyo should put more power in there amps, yamaha amps has way less cut in half power, im a sony person for 33, now going on 34 years owning sony brand, sony kicks more ass for power , a way more. so for someone starting a basic stereo , well this will do for a start, in my case , stick with sony, dont matter the speakers, 100, 200, 250 watts , no problem, sony is my number one , no matter what its family. onkyo bought out pioneer back in 2015, because pioneer was going in the down hill side.

Got this for the bedroom, and I am very satisfied. I paired it with a set of Pioneer SP-BS22-LR on some fairly beefy metal stands and the sound is pretty great. I thought I would need to add a subwoofer for more low end, but after hearing this setup for a few weeks, I won’t be doing that. The levels are more than sufficient across the spectrum, and the sound is fantastic considering the low price. If this was for a more music-focused critical listening setup, I would definitely add a sub, but for general use, the pairing sounds great.

The SX-10AE has plenty of inputs, just no digital, but a good breakout D/A converter is cheap enough. I paired this one (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07142SV1D/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) with SX-10AE to convert the digital output from my DTV box, and it works and sounds excellent. The Bluetooth receiver works great with my OnePlus 7T, connects fast, and with lossless source files and AAC enabled on my 7T, it sounds really good. The remote contains all necessary functions and works well, although it seems a little long.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and while the SX-10AE may not be audiophile grade, for an inexpensive receiver, it’s perfect.

This will be my second one. I purchased the first one for my daughter. Don’t be put off by the basic features, if you want an audio receiver this little unit delivers. It has that clean, clear Pioneer sound that I’m glad hasn’t been lost by the Onkyo takeover. In a small room and with a quality set of smaller speakers, only the most very picky listener would take issue with it. It’s easy to set up, operate and looks elegant. Buy it from Amazon as you can’t beat the price and service.

Back in the day, as we say, I had a killer system, Pioneer 911A speakers, Kenwood receiver, Teac 10″ reel to reel, Pioneer 8 track recorder, Kenwood cassette player/recorder. All together they made a formidable moving experience, meaning every time I moved, it was a lot of work. But the sound was incredible. Fast forward to now to this receiver. It’s a great value. As many older Americans, I lost most of hearing on a misspent youth (a lot of concerts, listening to the stereo loud, and working on a flight line with B-52s and F-4s.) But I love the ease of connecting to my phone, computer, and turntable. i paired the receiver with the Klipsch speakers for awesome sound without the police showing up. Highly recommend.

En general es un buen producto pero el Bluetooth genera un ruido inaceptable.

TLDR: This receiver has EVERYTHING I want and nothing I don’t (at a budget price). REVIEW: I’ve loved stereos for years. While I’ve typically purchased Yamaha products the last 30 years, I think i may be a convert to Pioneer. Th Pioneer SX-10AE is a little more musical in that it’s a little warmer and seems to have better/richer stereo imaging whereas my Yamahas of recent years seem a little sterile. My B&W CDM-1NT speakers sound great with this receiver, which is good news because I thought the speakers would want a lot more power. As I get older I find myself wanting convenience than anything else. POSITIVES: flawless bluetooth, bass & treble controls right on the remote control (no menu-diving), a bass boost button (come on, you know you want that) an RCA left&right “line out” (the line out is a constant-level output and is not controlled by the volume level), a subwoofer out, a simple remote with big buttons, a simple stereo receiver that has everything I want – I prefer my TV in stereo anyway. CONS: Just one I guess: If you have large speakers you might want more power.

The amplifier/receiver has a lower power rating then stated probably more like 45 W per channel at 8 Ohm, not a bad sounding amp but would require volume to be set at 75% in order to get an adequate listening volume 4 ohm Speakers were not given enough power to perform well at any volume unfortunate , good looking amplifier. may sound good with the right speakers.

For a lower end receiver, this Pioneer is as loud as a person needs. I don’t understand reviews that complain about the number the volume knob shows. Who cares?

If you think the sound quality is bad, it’s probably your cheap speakers — not this 20-20000 Hz receiver. Human ears can’t detect anything beyond 20-20000 Hz in either direction.

Why care if “network” is a stupid label (and it is) if you can run your phonograph pre to it? And yes, you need a phono pre. So what? I’d rather run my high end vintage Technics table than buy a cheap copy with a built in pre.

Is this a Luxman or an old Pioneer from the classic days? No. But it also cost less than $300.

    Totally worth the money.

Don’t get this for Bluetooth. It’s so incredibly quiet. You have to turn your phone and the sound system up to max volume to hear anything. Normally, I listen to CDs and the radio around 40-50, but Bluetooth requires 100 and it’s still not even that loud.

Otherwise, it works great and sounds good. Plenty of hookups. Remote works fine. Radio works fine. It’s very much a “what you see is what you get” ordeal, aside from the Bluetooth issue.
