I purchased this to hold emergency/recovery equipment in my truck bed. I upgraded from a non-hinged Plano Sportsman trunk because I wanted a hinged lid. Another use for the tote was to be used as a step from my tailgate for when I camp in my truck bed. The non-hinged sportsman’s trunk held my weight with ease but the hinged trunk is much more flimsy. I do not think I will be able to use it as a step without risking damage to the lid. Additionally, the non-hinged sportsman trunk is easy to seal with weather stripping. I do not think I will be able to weatherstrip the hinged sportsman’s trunk.

I love this box lots of room and keeps everything dry. I got this for my camping supplies and works great for keeping everything together, I bought another one as well as well as the two smaller ones. Big Bonus is there stackable for storage. No more cardboard boxes getting wet when it rains.

The good parts.
– Well formed and designed. Snap locks on the front and both sides. It will stay closed.
– Lockable. Read below.
– High volume capacity and good side holds in the molded side panels (not swing handles)
The mixed parts,
– Modestly strong…this is NOT a secure from theft box. Your lock goes through top and bottom platic tabls. Anyone with intent can get into this box. But, if you want to casually keep the curious or less committed out it is perfect.
I would NOT sit on this as it may not take it.

I just submitted a review for this and then I retracted it I hope.
I said it didn’t have handles on the ends of the tote. I was wrong, they’re located lower than I realized.
The one bad rap I give it is about those handles. They are located kind of low on each end of the tote.
I’m 6′-2″ and have to stretch out pretty good to grab the handles. The heavier the tote, the bigger grunt to lift it.
I’m good, but a shorter wing span will grunt! No problem with two people lifting.

I’ve got a ford maverick pickup with a small 4.5ft bed so I didn’t want a traditional bed toolbox that’d take up tons of room. This things perfect for holding my extra bottle jack, the fishing gear I leave in my truck 24/7, straps and bungees, and a few other odds and ends while being easy to drag out of the back and leave at home if I need to haul something. I just keep it bungee corded to the back on my bed.
It’s also been rained on a few times and the contents stay dry.
