I bought the drive because it was advertised as being sold with burning software. I looked at a similar deal for another drive and the software clearly stated it was a trial version that expired after a set amount of time. This drive did not have that message, so I thought it would not have the same condition. It did, so I paid extra for the software because I thought it was OEM software, not trial software. Instead, I got trial software.
Trial software should be very clearly marked, especially when the price is greater than the same product being sold without software.
The drive itself is fine, it does its job, and I have no problem with the brand.

I replaced my Asus drives with these. One of the Asus drives would not open, the other would not close. These have no issues thus far.

Was deciding between an external drive or an internal. This is the second drive for the cpu and decided internal to save real estate on the desk. Installation was straight forward. Didn’t use Nero disc others mentioned but the cable and hardware included made the install a snap.
Used quite a bit so far and it performs flawlessly. Good value for the $.

I have been using lite-on drives for years and have never had a problem with their products….I had this up and running—installed and functioning in extremely short order….YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THIS SET-UP IF YOU ARE AT ALL COMPUTER SAVVY…THANKS AGAIN LITE-ON FOR SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT

I purchased this in December 2023, to back up my CD collection to .flac files. Since then, I have ripped 809 CD’s with no problems. I had used a couple different, older laptops on the past to rip CD’s and I had a lot of issues with CD’s having too many errors to accurately rip. With this player I haven’t had any issues at all. I use Exact Audio Copy, which verifies your rip for accuracy and I have found this drive to be extremely accurate.
Last night I was ripping a CD when I heard a very loud Pop!! noise. I thought something fell off the wall. I finally heard the CD player making a weird whining noise… I had to unplug it to shut it off and when I moved it (it’s in an external drive holder on my desk), it sounded like a maraca inside..
I removed the drive from the enclosure and disassembled it, when I got the cover open, rice sized pieces of the CD came pouring out.. the CD had exploded!
The crazy part was, I poured all the little pieces of the CD out, kind of blew it off a little and put it back together and it still works!
I ripped another 3 CD’s after putting it back together and it works perfectly!
I’m amazed by the durability of this player… seriously amazed.

It was easy to install and it worked with the Burning Software that was already installed onu desktop. I have a Dell XPS 420 thats old but still works great and I have updated it to its limits..The original Burner finally died so replacing it at this price was a no brainier. It works great,so far so good .

Bought the installation kit, had a terrible time getting the drive to recognize there was a disc in it. Eventually found the SATA cable that comes in the kit was faulty. After replacement the drive works fine.

I swapped the DVD that came with my pc with the DVD+/-RW Drive; so I could back up info. It works great. I did NOT use the nero software; because I don’t like trial software. I already had a old version of ROXIO; so my DVD burning option works. Other than the trial version of nero; this is a great product.
