I needed a docking station for my new laptop (HP), and I was completely at a loss after ordering & returning a couple of docking stations due to incompatibility with my laptop. Pat P. at Plugable sent me a link to download the error log so he could look into it further. He promptly got back to me with detailed explanations of why some docking stations would not work with my laptop & recommended several models that would work. I ordered UD-6950H and it works like a charm, and I couldn’t be happier. It can be plugged in using USB-C or USB-3 and it has an on/off button as well so it can be turned off when it’s not in use. Great products and amazing tech support. Many thanks to Pat P. and the Plugable team.

I have purchased a few smaller “docks” the past few years. I use dual monitor & some accessories and work off a Lenova Yoga 900 series or a Dell Powerstation. The small ones were okay for awhile, but I needed something central with. Display ports, HDMI, & MULTIPLE USB3. Easy to set up, compatible with all my peripherals, & independent power source. Hope it lasts awhile. I’ll post updates.

I’ve been using this docking station since April 2022. I bought it to be compatible with my newer M1 work MacBook Air *and* my older personal one (I just use a USB adapter to move the input cable from one machine to the next as needed, no fancy KVM switching for me), and it’s worked like a charm. I run two external monitors through HDMI connections, run audio through it (old Bose speakers+sub), and use the USB ports on the device for a corded keyboard, webcam, and phone charger. I keep it bundled up in a cable net under my desk for cord management and stand my laptops up behind my monitors to clear desk space. I never need to touch the thing, so it’s nice to be able to tuck it out of the way.
I’ve never had any problem with it until a recent cable management quest. I simply unplugged it, and the monitors wouldn’t work anymore through it, though the USB ports still worked and the monitors worked on their own. It was one of those cursed tech mysteries that happens to the best of us, a major bummer, and in a normal scenario might result in me docking a few stars for planned obsolescence… BUT! Plugable’s tech support team was so responsive in helping me troubleshoot and quickly determined this wasn’t expected behavior and proactively invoked the warranty (which I didn’t even know I had, tbh) to send me a brand new pre-tested one. I plugged it in, and everything works great again.
So, maybe the product isn’t perfect, but the customer support was next level and I’m back in action, and those guys deserved a shoutout. Very few products are perfect, but this brand is doing “making it right” right. I’d recommend it for anyone with big desk productivity dreams on a smaller desk and smaller budget.

La construcción es bastante ligera. Pero que no te engañen las apariencias.
Ni una sola vez me ah dejado de funcionar.
Estoy usando dos monitores aparte del de mi laptop. Un headset para tomar llamadas. Un mouse y Un teclado externos.
Y conectado via cable de ethernet.
Todo esto, Un mínimo de 10 horas al día.
Es excelente.
Lo que les recomiendo es que instalen los controladores primero que nada.
Y ya que estén instalados, primero enciendan la computadora, y LUEGO la docking station para Un mejor reconocimiento de monitores y de resoluciones.
Una maravilla y vale cada peso.

This is a very easy dock to set up, truly plug and play.
The only thing I wish it does is the usb-c to host cable really should including charging capabilities, I think it is a miss for this product, and it is the only reason why it’s not a 5 star product and is instead a 4 star.

I looked forever for a way to link my MacBook to a monitor at home and finally found this previously along with display link and it works great! I then bought this one, a more updated version for my office and it is great! Very easy to set up, you will need to download display link and configure the settings but otherwise very smooth so far!

On both Windows 7 & 10 laptops, I was able to connect to 2 external monitors and all the peripherals, plus 2 external storages, all at the same time. Details:
– Connect to 2 external monitors (both 1920*1080, 24 inches) through UD-6950H’s 2 HDMI ports.
I then connected to another external monitor (38 inches ultrawide, 3840*1600 – my main monitor) from my laptop’s HDMI port. So, in total, I have 4 screens – 3 external monitors + 1 laptop screen. Enough screen real estate to satisfy pretty much anyone’s needs.
And just to make sure, I tried, and connecting to the 38 inch ultrawide through UD-6950H was also no problem.
– Connect to an unpowered USB2 hub with various peripherals (mouse, printer, scanner, USB switch, thumbdrive) through a single USB3 port on UD-6950H.
– Connect to 1 * 3.5 inch powered external HDD through a different USB3 port on UD-6950H.
– Connect to 1 * 2.5 inch non-powered external SSD through yet another different USB3 port on UD-6950H.
There was no hassle. Just plug and play. The only delay was the initial driver installations the first instance I connected the UD-6950H. But that’s to be expected.
I was initially concerned about how it’ll handle the external storages. Because USB hubs sometimes can be unstable for external storage connections. But this product had no such problems. Further evidence that this product is not a cheap, low quality product, but is of high quality.
I am very pleased with my purchase and will definitely recommend this product to anyone who’s looking to use their laptop. And with USB-C connection to host & display port options, this port will work well now, and into at least the near future.
The Plugable help was also very helpful. I asked them a bunch of detailed questions about my setup and they replied quite promptly and in detail. I strongly suggest you ask them about the exact setup you have or want.
