i have so far only used the wren. the cardinal is still in the box. my 1 year old cat was afraid of this at first, he is smallish, and the birds are pretty big & heavy.. not something to carry in mouth or toss in air. . I had to spray with catnip and attach to a string to get him interested. it is not his favorite toy, but plays with it occasionally, especially if a shine a lazer on it or interact in other ways. The chirping is realistic, not too loud, but it doesn’t always work. He likes the feathers to chew on. The toy has held up well, but not often played with.

This is the best toy ever… makes a little chirping sound when they play with it and it can easily be thrown, cuddled, or carried by the cat. They love the feathers and they played with these for about an hour. Going to hide them for a future playtime so they don’t lose their novelty!

We always have a houseful of rescued cats of various ages. To entertain them, we: (a) play nature & bird videos on television; (b) open the curtains so they can watch the bird melodramas at the feeder in the front yard; and (c) use various toys for play. The Potaroma Cat Toys Chirping Birds have been a BIG success! I usually hang one or two toys in a couple of doorways, so the cats can chase and catch them. These birds CHIRP when touched, and that has really increased their enjoyment value. Currently, we have the red Cardinal swinging from one doorway, and its companion bird hidden away, waiting for its turn on duty. My husband is famous for taking bird toys and connecting them to his fishing poles (without hooks, of course), and leading cats on a merry chase. I recommend these chirping birds to anyone who wants to offer their cats a fun, realistic toy. Although these birds may not look sturdy at first glance, they have held up remarkably well – imagine six enthusiastic cats (two formerly feral) playing daily with one dangling bird, and afterward, it’s still intact and chirping.
ALSO, if you work at home and desperately need to get a little work done, get these little birds, annoint them with catnip, and then hang up in a doorway, using sturdy cord. As soon as your cat is fully engaged in play, quietly slip away to your own work area. You may discover – as I did – that you’ve bought yourself some uninterrupted work time.
Your mileage may vary, but I hope you have wonderful experiences with these toys, as we have.

Theses birds are awesome to elicit play and practice with my cats murder mittens. They went from outdoor to indoor cats due to wildlife around our new home. Filled them with the catnip provided and the attacking begins!! Only downside is if you leave them out the cats seem to get bored after a day. Put them away and bring them out a few days later… and it starts all over again. I will buy more! Wish they had chipmunks, squirrels and snakes!!

My cat has turned his nose up to several cat toys featuring cat nip. But these he loves. The sound attracts him and the cat nip gets him playing and exercising. Even the dog likes them. And they seem to be holding up well. He’s not losing interest either so this purchase was a big win

My cat, 3 mo, absolute and I mean absolutely loves these birds!!! She’s strictly indoor and she just can’t seem to get enough out of them. I haven’t even put any catnip in/on/around them and she goes nuts over these birds!!! Definitely worth the purchase price for this item. The chirping isn’t annoying or too long lasting either. So, the noise isn’t annoying. Durability seems to be lasting, as she’s already torn up a chirpy bird I got from a different big box store. 10/10!!

My cat has 2 other toys from this manufacturer and she just loves them. They require charging which means she can’t play with them during that time. It’s really no problem but these do not have that; they chirp on their own when nuzzled and she can have them any time she wishes. She really likes the size of these.

These seemed cute and my cat seemed to like them but than she started acting all crazy and growling and her behavior was scaring me. I think she thought they were real. she became territorial and hissing if we tried to take it from her. I threw them away. I didn’t want her to stress out over a toy and she is always a loving cake. Never saw this behavior from her.
