This is great and sounds like a squirrel! It does call them out, they don’t jump into your hands but it’s gets them out of there hiding spots to get a good shot.
To do a charter you just shake it rapidly.
A bark is just where you hit the top. Don’t squeeze like it’s a dog toy, hit the top. And cup your hand at the bottom to change pitch. It works great. People who say it sounds like a dog toy don’t know how to use it.

Out west here we have lots of Rock Squirrels they will get into stuff you don’t want them to. Getting them to come back out of their hiding places can be a challenge. I bought one of these to try to get them to pop their head up and say “What’s going on”. After some trial and error, I got it to make that little squeak they do and was able to get it to work. While not perfect it does the job, still looking for that call for our western Rock Squirrels.

Works great. Called one in on the first trip.

Forget complicated techniques and endless practice. This call nails the art of simplicity. Out pops a series of realistic squirrel sounds – distress cries, chatters, the whole shebang. It’s so easy, even your squirrel-hunting-skeptical grandma could master it.
This call isn’t just user-friendly, it’s incredibly portable. It hangs around my neck like a furry (well, not yet) fashion statement. No more lugging around bulky calls that make me look like a walking wind chime store. And let’s be honest, looking like a wind chime store isn’t exactly conducive to stealthy squirrel stalking.
There is a slight learning curve to getting the perfect squeaks, but trust me, it’s a fun curve. It’s like unlocking a secret squirrel language.
Not every squirrel is a sucker for a good call. Some old-timers have seen it all and won’t come running like lemmings. But that’s part of the thrill, right?

This call works great with little effort. Makes true to life squirrel sounds. The barrel of the call is plastic not wood. Works great in wet weather without the damage moisture causes to wood barrel calls.

Lifetime warranty and actually works! Correct sounds, 5 different calls in one and the best I’ve seen! Cannot possibly get any better then this one!

Bought this for my Grandson & his 4 year old boy. I know someone that young has a hard time staying focused for any length of time. Went squirrel hunting & we all had a good time. His little boy really got excited when he called a fox squirrel in. The call sounded good and realistic. Another quality call from Primos

Easy to use and produce a good sound. Plenty of online videos on how to use it but for british squirrels it’s best to listen to a couple of British ones then try to mimic them with the call

Purchased this as a replacement for a call I have had for many, many years. This is the second item I purchased as a replacement but the other item was not acceptable and was sent back (other product below…). This call definitely gets the squirrel’s attention and confuses the crap out of my dogs. My dogs didn’t pay much attention to my old call, so this one must have something special going on. 🙂 From my personal experience, this call literally brought the squirrels down out of the trees. The first time I tried it was in the trees next to my house where my dogs run all the time. Like I said, my dogs couldn’t figure out why I was making that sound, but then they heard a squirrel hit the leaves and the race was on. After things calmed down, I tried it again and I was shocked that the same squirrel came back down the tree a second time. I have not tried the distress call yet as the red squirrel bark has been more than enough so far.

So, I would have given this thing a one star untill I read a review saying it sounded like a crow untill it was broken in. Mine really sounds like a crow, and really got a single squirrel going. But I have not seen tails going, extra movement in the trees, have not been able to even hear chatting off in the distance in town where I live. I am really wanting to try and break it in like the other review said and give it a higher rating but after 24 hours in the woods after hours of practicing at home getting the sequence down perfectly and not being able to call in or even get hidden squirrels to start chatting I give it a 3 star. The quality is still good and I can see you be able to call in crows maybe. But it is a squirrel call that out of the box sounds like something that eats there babies out of the box. It is very inconvenient that you need to break this call in. I will try to break it in and hope that the tone gets lower to better mimic squirrels tone. But as for now it has not broken, the distress squeak still works, and the bellows still shakes and makes the chatter sound. But as for sound quality for now it sounds like a crow and not a squirrel.

It’s a predator call rather than a squirrel call.
“squirrel buster” is a suiting name.
It’ll work for desired species.
