Wow!…Can’t believe the quality of this case for under $200.00.If you’re looking for a nice trombone case buy this one… I guarantee you wil be super impressed. The cons are that it is heavy and not well balanced as it tips backwards when you open it but with that said l love.

The case does great only thing is that it does not fit in his trombone locker. A little to big but it does protect the instrument great. This case replaced the old worn out case we had bought when we purchased the instrument.

Flunked the drop test. I took my Duo Gravis checked on an airplane and no dents in the OLD oversized case w/bubble wrap. This one fell over from the upright position, and I needed to give it to the repair person with major bell damage. BAD NEWS.

I have used this case only for about a month or so and long-term durability has not been tested yet.

This is a rather heavy and bulky case. However users who would walk or bike a lot with this case may find many benefits of it, as well as those who feel bit insecure about using very light-weight case to cary and protect your precious instrument.

Firstly, the interior of this case is well thought and may protect your instrument from incidents that designers of many lighter-weight cases may have neglected. The Bell is snugged fairly tightly in this case. The clearance around the lever and links seems large. Actually, any parts of the rotary mechanism on my Holton TR180 (B-flat/F/D) do not touch to the case when placed in it (but this may depend on instrument). The slide is almost completely covered by the protective part. These characteristics of this case would add some extra security.

Secondly, the strap and the hooks work great. With a 10′ bass trombone, a Hercules in-bell stand and ordinary supply goods in it, the case is still easy to carry around in crowded city area thanks to the great pad on the strap, the center-of-gravity design, and secondary strap hook on the bell area which allows you to hold the case vertically with ease.

The original padded backpack strap is must-have option for those who would ride a bike or walk long distance with your instrument. The case is felt very flat and comfy on my back. The weight distribution seems right, although the weight is inevitably heavy. I found no difficulty to ride bike with this case for 20+ minutes on flat road.

Lastly, I have found two concerns so far,
    (1) The hooks for lower ends of the backpack strap are mounted on the ballistic nylon cover without extra reinforcement, unlike the hooks for shoulder strap. This might cause durability issue in a long-run.
    (2) There is no feature to hold a cleaning rod (if you hesitate to modify the case by yourself).

I want to give this 5 stars but the canvas is pulled so tight around the corner where the bell is that one of the wood screws has come out. It isn’t noticeable, but it what I would call a design flaw. I like Protec stuff, in fact, I didn’t realize it but my previous case was actually Protec as well. It has excellent padding and good storage space on the side for stuff. By the way, this review is for the Protec case, not the gold series gig-bag. They share the same page on Amazon, so make sure you order this one. The gold series gig-back is 1-star and sucks!

This product has almost the level of protection as my old hard cases. It is not exactly lightweight or as easily portable as my previous gig bag but I wanted something sturdier for my new toy. This fits the bill. My Bach/Greenhoe with 9.5″ bell fits easily. My Edwards with dual axialls and 10.5″ bell fits very snug. Since I purchased it for the former, it is a good size for my needs.
I am only using the handle and shoulder strap so I am not able to comment on the optional backpack straps.
The only thing it is missing is a good place to put a slide-cleaning rod.

    作りがしっかりしていてポケットの容量も十分ですね、楽器を保護してくれる反面、重量がやや重いのが難点ですが、しっかりしているので仕方ないですね。

Great case. $90 was more than a fair price.
The case isn’t too heavy, nor too light. Just last week I accidentally spilled coffee on it, and it didn’t stain!
This case can take a beating. It’s better than any case that comes along with a brand new horn.
Honestly, I would pay $200 for this case if I had to.
