The tuning pegs don’t hold AT ALL. I’ve tuned many stringed instruments and this is absolute garbage. You twist the pegs and they fall right back immediately. My daughter’s Walmart guitar was better quality. Absolute garbage. Wasted my time. Returning immediately and will never purchase from this company again.

As a starter I was having problems with the violin and customer service was able to explain what need to be done to get me going. This is well built and looks really nice. I’m still learning so it will take me some time to make it sound great but when sticking the cords with my finger they sounds great. That’s why I’m giving 5 stars.

So first the pegs don’t even work, whole entire instrument is good as a whole, but the strings don’t tighten and they don’t stay on one is already broken. There’s a part that keep the strings up and erected and that keep on popping off and I can’t use the instrument that way if there’s any kind of options in a whole, I’m never gonna be able to play it

Nice looking Violin, but I would suggest re-string. Sting that come on it is thin and brittle. Great tuner, good quality bow, and hard case. Definitely for beginners. Will have to upgrade to better Violin if you truly take this instrument up as a hobby. Great buy for beginners and starting out.

I am a composer and violinist and I actually bought this inexpensive electric violin for experimentation purposes before investing in an expensive Yamaha model and I was pleased and surprised at the quality and value! It looks and works just as advertised; the bow is of especially high quality. I noticed that several folks complained about the difficulty of the pegs and initial string tuning – that is actually STANDARD for when you get new violin strings; they have to stretch and also the pegs have to adjust (put some chalk on the pegs if they still slip). The little amp is for standard sound/practice only. I am running mine through a Boss 50 watt modeling guitar amp for my composition work and performances and it is great! I would recommend this to anyone who either wants it for keeps or as a “toe in the water” experiment before buying something more expensive.

Violin is yellow, not red-sunburst, but I don’t mind the color. Violin has good set-up of the bridge and the pick-up. The Amp. sounds decent. However, the bow is very bad quality, defective or substandard, not as advertised. The headphone is muffled or does not work. Contacting customer services but they have given me the run-around of endless email exchanges, but the company (Pyle) has not shipped the replacements for the defective items! Waiting for them to resolve the issues. If they don’t resolve, will return the package via Amazon within the 30-day limit. If they do resolve the issues, I will upgrade the review.
Update: They didn’t ship the replacement, but I did receive some credit for the defective accessories. I did not return the package. That company could have made the customer service process more friendly. Upgrade the review to 3-star (from 2-star) because the violin does sound very nice (if you use it with a better bow; you need to buy a different bow elsewhere.)

All Violins are not created equal obviously. This one is no exception. If you are looking for a Stradivarius for the Symphony I’d move on. If you are looking for one to learn on that is somewhat quieter or an electric one to gig with so the good one can stay at home this fits the bill perfectly. It includes all the accessories that are required for an acoustic violin as well as a decent case to hold everything. If you go to buy rosin, a shoulder rest, extra strings and a clip on tuner that can easily hit $50. If you are into recording the pickup is good fir that as well so you don’t need to buy an additional microphone. Appearance wise it looks wonderful and the photos don’t do it justice. The headphones aren’t the greatest but I look at them as being free with the rest of the outfit and are perfect for learning. I’ll get pictures and a video up once the skill level improves. Don’t want to run anyone off 🙂

I bought this as a first time violin student, looking for an electric violin so I could practice a bit quieter. Out of the box, everything was in great shape, no dents or cracks in the finish. Once I got it in tune and the bow rosined, I was so pleased to hear the first tones from the open strings. It is loud enough for me to hear, but beyond a closed door the volume is reduced significantly. I next tried out the electric bits on my own amplifier and was greatly satisfied with the sound levels and tone of the pickups. This so far seems like an excellent beginners instrument that I will be pleased to learn with.

Received it in a violin box that was in a larger box with wrapping to protect the violin.
Upon opening, the violin case is wrapped (pics) in a see-through wrap that can be untied at the top, so you don’t need to rip through it.
As I open the case, everything is laid out before my eyes: marvelous headset, a soft headrest, aux plug-ins, rosin, replacement cords, a cloth to wipe down and clean, the bow perfectly wrapped yet tightened, a tuner, and straps for the violin case.
The violin was obviously detuned in transit, which is expected. When one buys a violin from anywhere, it’s almost expected of the buyer to tune it when they return or open it at home.
The pegs are perfectly tightened in the top.
The bridge isn’t fitted right, so I definitely notice that it will be hard to run the bow over the strings without accidentally rubbing against another string.
