I ordered this for my sister. Her husband died a few months ago, and she lives alone. Although her son and other relatives are close by, and she does not live in an unsafe neighborhood, she is nervous and anxious and, of course, still very much grieving. She was using her good dining room chairs under her doorknobs for added security, and while those work, it can ruin the chairs. So I found these on Amazon.
I wish I had taken pictures of the first set that arrived: the bars were not in plastic wrap (photo 1); there were not ‘feet’ or wedges for the doorknob (photo 2); there were no instructions (photo 3); and the box it came in was torn in several places and taped all over: It was obviously a return from someone else, and I didn’t realize parts were missing until I tried to use it.
Then I looked at the product page again and realized what I got was useless.
Due to Amazon’s superior customer service, I went on my orders page, selected return, selected ‘replace item,’ was instructed to simply take the whole shebang (as much as it was whole) to UPS and they would send a replacement.
The replacement arrived the next day.
You’ll see that the legs were properly wrapped (photo1); the ‘feet’ or wedges were in the box (photo 2); and the instructions were included (photo 3).
The legs are adjustable, they probably go to a height of 4 feet or more. Once I placed one under her door, I simply kept adjusting and moving the foot closer until it was very secure (photo 4). On photos 5 and 6 you can see how the wedges (I also referred to them as feet because they look like feet; well, duck’s feet) are very tight and secure around the doorknob. In fact, they are so secure that the door knob cannot be turned at all —even it the door is unlocked. I mean, the doorknob does not budge.
Highly recommended – especially because these are two to a package, for less than $30, and of course no shipping if you’re a Prime member.
Gotta love Amazon’s selection, and their customer service.

The best door jam I have ever see . Very easy to us . Just adjust for your door and place it under the door knob . Easy to adjust for regular doors or sliding doors .

I bought several different brands of this and by far, this one impressed me the most because it is very heavy and sturdy. I like that it came with a rubber tip to use for sliding doors. Yes, buy this brand as it is way better than the other brands.
