This light is great. Will be getting a second one for my wife’s bike. It is great that it will automatically turn on with movement or when it gets dark. The metal casing is light weight but sturdy. Battery last a good time. The 2 mounts is also a plus to give options on positioning. Installation with either mount is simple and straightforward. Charging takes no time. The multiple light functions are also wonderful. Great price over some of the other products out there. This light is also very bright and easy to see.

This light has a surprisingly long battery life that will go for many hours without interruption. I also love the brake momentum-sensing light that works consistently and provides brighter illumination while braking. I believe that feature is automatic regardless of which of the four light modes you use, which I love. USB-C charging is also such a nice feature, just unscrew the module from its mount and there’s the well-concealed charging port. Great design and built very well. I’ll be picking up another one when I get another bike.

The smart brake sensing is really cool and the mounting system is excellent and looks great and is very sturdy under my seat.
SilentSeven –
Nicely made with a machined aluminum housing, mount and seat clamp. Really nice to not see plastic! Love the auto-off and ‘stop light’ feature. Battery life has been good and the blue indicator dots are helpful.
You can’t compare this with a strobe type light so if that’s what you want I think the brightness will be disappointing. I wish there was an option to run the light full time at the stop light brightness even at the expense of battery life.

by far, this is the best most cost effective rear bike light out there. I cycle 1.5+ hours a day to commute to work and back, and a single charge last easily 2 weeks, eg 10 working days without recharging. Charging time is barely 2-3 hours when it needs a full charge, which is very rare. It’s placed under rear seat and never had any issues with light on/off ever, which is more than I can say for other brand names bike light. It’s on level of Blackburn bike light quality. Solid, robust, long lasting. money well spent.

My only complaint is that the mounting system doesn’t close narrowly enough to grip the bars under my seat, I had to wrap the bars with some tubing to give the light an ability to grip the bars. I don’t know if my new Trek seat is unusual, or if this problem would extend to more seats. However, I was surprised and delighted to learn that the thing brightens like a brake light when I put on the brakes, even though it’s not connected to anything. Brilliant! It does have a flexible rubber mount that works fine on the seat post, but I didn’t want the light to be covered by an under-saddle bag, so I had to modify things to make it work right under the saddle. Other than that, it’s a great light.

Visible during the daylight, that is what is more important to me. Mounts perfectly under the saddle. And fast recharge……good piece that doesn’t break the bank.

UPDATE: Rockbros refunded my purchase price, and I will re-buy when they make a unit that has auto on/off and motion sensing in the daylight. Outside of that, it is a very nice unit. Small and bright, with a good mounting system. The brake light algorithm seems to work well.
UPDATE: The Q5 is a Tail light.
The one I have, does not have auto on/off, motion sensing in the daylight – despite what RockBros.says. In fact, if you very carefully read the PR info, it says this.
The tail light has manual mode, strobe flash and contiguous in the daylight, not auto on/off motion sensing.
The RockBros Q5 tail light Has several problems. There is no way to shut off the ambient light sensor for the blink and breath functions. This makes it useless in the daylight and only useful at night. So the kid riding to and from school does not have a tail light, which is why I bought a vibration sensing/auto shutoff light in the first place.
The manual says that mode 3 and 4 (strobe blink and continuous) are useful in the daylight, but they do not have vibration sensing or auto shutoff. So to get into that mode you have to push the button through all the other modes, and same to shut it off – not very “smart”.
So, I took the unit apart (thus voiding the warranty) to see if I could cover up the ambient light sensor. That didn’t work because they use the off cycle of all the LEDs to sense ambient light. So, I had to block all the LEDs to keep it blinking in the daylight.
I asked this question before I bought it, and got an inexact answer back from someone who is not a native English speaker.
