Rosetta Stone Lifetime Spanish Course | All Devices

Note: This review isn’t for this exact version of Rosetta Stone, but please read as once you realize what kind of a company this is, I doubt that you’ll want to purchase any products from them.

As I write this, it is Nov of 2023. I purchased the “Rosetta Stone Learn Spanish Bonus Pack (24 Month Subscription + Lifetime Download + Book Set)” in December of 2018. This exact product, same product page, same box, same description is still being sold on Amazon right now. Rosetta stopped supporting it less than a year after I bought it. The software says it is good for a “lifetime” but it runs on Adobe Flash, which was shut down in 2020. All the security experts recommended uninstalling it and once uninstalled there is no way to get it back again, not that you would want to as it’s a huge security risk.

I used the online portion of the product for a little over a year and then fell out of it and figured I would try it out again later as they said I had “lifetime” use of the software. A while back I tried to run the program, which was still installed on my PC. It doesn’t work. So I contact Rosetta and they explain that it won’t work because they don’t support it anymore. I pointed out to them over and over that it says all over the product page, their box and all the materials that I received that I could use it for a “lifetime”. They said that their definition of “lifetime” is for as long as they decide to support it, which in this case was LESS THAN A YEAR. They also said that they have no idea why this product is still being sold, and blamed in on a 3rd party seller. Also, they thanked me for bringing it to their attention, although this was almost 2 months ago and the product is still up for sale on Amazon.

Sometime between then and now, they seem to have moved to an online only model where they also offer a “lifetime” subscription for around $180-$400, depending on where you get it and what link you click to get there. This one also has the exact same stipulation that “lifetime” means as long as they decide to support it. Of course that definition isn’t on the product anywhere, it’s on an obscure page on their website that you likely would never find unless you were sent the direct link from their customer service.

Their customer service then actually tries to sell me their new “lifetime” product. Apparently they think that since they scammed me once I will just fork over more money to them for what is more or less the exact same scam. They sold me software that wasn’t anything close to what they advertised. They admitted that they did this. Then they try to sell me new software that makes the exact same claim. Stay away from Rosetta stone, they aren’t trying to offer you a quality product, they are just running a scam to lie to you and take as much of your money as they can.
