This sabrent dock is built really well with the uniform metal chassis that feels like it’s going to last a long time. It’s much better than my plastic belkin hub that it’s replacing. The ports are all very fast and you have a good selection of usb c and a I would’ve liked an additional usb a port since one port isn’t really enough. The ethernet works great and I get my 800mb without any issues. I do sometimes wish that the cable was more flexible since it’s a thick pretty stiff cable but it’s held up well after a few months of use getting thrown around my backpack. Overall it’s a solid hub it’s perfect for staying productive on your laptop.

The device runs super hot, even idle. I tried a multi TB copy and it died twice in the middle. Likely, due to overheating. Very disappointed. Add to it, that it comes with a screw drive for screws that don’t need to be removed, but not the correct tool for the rear screws to get inside. Luckily, I had the right tools, but that’s a silly design flaw.

Itโs nice to be able to put SSDโs but they are very slow. This needs to be upgraded to thunderbolt for to get full speed also it gets extremely hot under normal use

I got this for adding additional ports on my two workstations and it has worked great. No issues with connections, speed delays or weird driver compatibility issues. Everything seems to work on it with no issue! I have become a huge fan of Sabrent over the course of the last three years. They make good products and I have come to trust the brand.

Je suis trรจs satisfait de ce HUB qui fonctionne parfaitement avec les les appareils rรฉcents d’Apple. Je suis certain que ce hub sera d’actualitรฉ pour au moins les 3 prochaines annรฉes.

It’s compact enough for traveling and expanding portable Thunderbolt 3 computers.
The 2.5Gbps ethernet port works as expected.

This thing is fast! I got the one with no SSDs inside and installed 8tb total. I have been running this thing with my iMac mostly video editing with Final Cut and it has been a game changer. I used to have to make proxies of all my clips and now I donโt have to and can scrub through 5k and 6k 360 footage no problems. This was not a super popular device like OWC or SanDisk but this thing is a beast.

Power cycles every few seconds, making a high-pitched whining noise when it does so. When I plug the device into my macbook (m2 max w/ usb4) I can momentarily see the disks I installed before the high-pitched whine changes tone and the disks disappear. The status light on the dock turns off. A few seconds later, the whine returns, the light turns on, my laptop starts charging again, and I can see the disks. Then the cycle repeats. Unit is defective.

Before I got this hub, I tested 10GB file transfers from a MacBook Pro 14″ 2021 to a Samsung T9 Portable SSD. Over Wifi 6 it took 19:23 min. Over 1GB ethernet, it was 4:17 min. Initially, I tested this hub using a cable connected to the USB-A port and it was about 5 minutes.
I then found a good quality Thunderbolt 4 cable and connected via USB-C. The result blew my mind. It transferred in 10 seconds! This is an incredible result, much better than I could have wished for.
I also connected a female-to-female USB-C adaptor and a Thunderbolt 4 Cable to the cable running out of the hub into my MacBook and it passed through the power without issue and at the top speeds. If you don’t want the hub hanging off of a cable close to your laptop then the cable and extension make no difference to the performance.
I must say that I am seriously impressed.
