This product is so expensive, provides very little grass seed and leaves a muddy mess! I followed the direction exactly and was left with no new grass and red mud. Buy something else other than this product. A lot of money with no results. So disappointing! +++UPDATE: I reached out to Scotts for their “No Quibble Quarantee” FIVE times to no avail. They make it impossible to get a refund. They just give you the run around over and over until you give up….which is their intention!!!

We used this to seed some grass under a large maple tree, since bermuda grass would not grow in the shade. We spread it in early May, and we had to keep it good and wet for the first five days. A light spraying isn’t going to do it, but too much water and it’ll wash-away. Day 5 we saw sprouts, by day 8 we had three inch tall grass. We’ve kept it watered for two more weeks and I am going to mow it for the first time this weekend. The two downsides: It’s expensive, but way cheaper than having sod delivered and installed. There are a few dandelions growing in it, but that could’ve been there on the ground before we spread the seed mix. All in all, I love this product and will be using more of it next spring to grow grass under the large maple trees in front of my yard.

I used this to patch up bare areas on my lawn. It grows grass like weeds. It’s amazing. After a few days, I can already see sprouts. I almost didn’t buy this because I first bought a smaller container to try out and that one took weeks to sprout anything and then it was still pretty thin. For some reason, a LOT of weeds were coming up too. I don’t know if that was from the EZ Seed or not. So it wasn’t a good first impression. Maybe it was an old batch or something.
The later packages were a huge difference. It’s almost like instant grass. This was in blazing hot sun and 90 degree plus heat. I kept the patchy areas wet of course. And there was a noticeable lack of weeds, maybe because the new grass was coming in so fast.

You can see the before and after in the images. The before image was planted 10 days prior. I am immensely pleased with the quality of this product. I would definitely recommend. We have dogs that tend to be rough on the lawn, however, since they like to eat the grass I am very careful about the products I use to care for my lawn.
