Used this for some bare spots in my lawn. We get full sun so I followed instructions. Seed mixed in with brown mulch. Seems easy, watering results in dark mulch color and as it dries out it lightens signaling time to water again. I have a sprinkler systems but also hand watered the spots to keep moist. Just seemed to take 3+ weeks to START growing and only a portion of each area grew. I didn’t check if there was a “best buy” date and maybe seeds were too old? I’ve tried this twice now and very disappointed in it. I think regular grass seed in aerated lawn and with peat moss, sand or other lawn soil covering is the solid way to seed/over-seed.

I get great results with this stuff IF, and it is a big IF, I consistently water twice a day for the first 3 or 4 days and then once a day after. The grass grows. If you let it dry out you’re done and have wasted a bunch of money.
I took a star off because it does not cover the area it says if you want real grass coverage. Basically covers half of the area it says unless you want one blade of grass every 6 inches. It is also a bit expensive.

We bought this a few weeks ago and saw dramatic improvement in our backyard grass. It was amazing! I couldn’t believe the change and the color was so vibrant and lush. We want to regrow just the bald spots left over from dead grass. I would recommend to definitely take out the dead grass so it has more fertile soil to grab onto then make sure to water it daily for a week. Then we reapplied it a month later. Reapplying it made it much more lush and vibrant. I highly recommend this product!

I don’t know if it’s an issue with the ground where I live (St. Louis, MO suburbs) or what, but everywhere I put this stuff down, hoping to fill in some holes on the ground where more grass was needed, instead it turned that area’s existing grass yellow almost immediately. Within a few days after that, all the grass that was surrounding the hole I was hoping to fill in was killed. So, now after applying this stuff to fill in some holes, because it did nothing but kill what little grass existed around it, I now had much larger holes with no grass. To fix this, I instead bought pure grass seed. Meaning, I just got plain seed so it would not also get whatever extra ingredients this stuff had to help ‘patch and repair’ in my grass. Slowly but surely this act of using plain grass seed instead of this crap worked. I ended up spending much more than planned, but using grass seed only was the way to go. Don’t know what happened, but this stuff was grass killer, not patch and repair. Don’t buy!

The grass is beautiful. It was nice. It did the patches very nice. Just follow the directions it works.

As someone who takes pride in maintaining a lush and healthy lawn, I turned to Scotts EZ Seed Patch with high hopes, and I’m pleased to say it delivered a satisfactory experience overall.
Ease of Use:
One of the standout features of Scotts EZ Seed Patch is its ease of use. The product combines seed, fertilizer, and mulch in one convenient package, making it simple for even novice gardeners to achieve successful results. The application process is straightforward – just spread the seed patch over bare spots in your lawn, water it regularly, and watch as new grass begins to grow.
Effectiveness:
In terms of effectiveness, Scotts EZ Seed Patch performs reasonably well. Within a few weeks of application and proper watering, I noticed new grass sprouting in the areas where I applied the seed patch. The combination of seeds with mulch and fertilizer seems to provide adequate nourishment and protection for the seeds to germinate and establish themselves.
Coverage and Application:
The product provides decent coverage per package size, enough to treat several small to medium-sized bare patches in the lawn effectively. For larger areas, multiple packages may be required, which can increase the overall cost but ensures thorough coverage and better results.
Versatility:
Scotts EZ Seed Patch is versatile and can be used in various lawn conditions, including sun or shade, which adds to its appeal. It adapts well to different soil types and can help rejuvenate troubled areas of the lawn, whether due to heavy foot traffic, pet damage, or other factors.
Value for Money:
While Scotts EZ Seed Patch is not the cheapest lawn repair solution on the market, its effectiveness and convenience justify the price for those looking to achieve quick and reliable results without extensive manual labor or multiple products.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Scotts EZ Seed Patch is a reliable option for repairing bare spots in your lawn with minimal effort. Its all-in-one design simplifies the seeding process, making it accessible to both beginners and experienced gardeners alike. While results may vary depending on environmental factors and maintenance practices, I found it to be a practical solution for maintaining a healthy and vibrant lawn.

My landscaper was supposed to reseed my front lawn, after he sprayed for clover and killed a lot of the grass. He did a horrible job. I reseeded with this product and the lawn was restored beautifully.

Great price for the quantity. Growth seen in two weeks of watering.
