  1. Heavy Theta

Selmer came out with their Concept pieces at the same time they had begun their new computer machined production. A very high standard. Combining the round throat of the classic soloist with a modern tear drop body. Very neat.

The small tip provides strong articulation and even tone, yet you can push it and give it inflection. I was most impressed listening to recordings of this piece. On soprano you can run into something of an oboe or horn squawnk on the low notes. Compared to others pieces I found the Concept to tread a little more lightly in that direction, while giving requisite sweetness to the 2nd octave. It sounded great, to me.
