Like that it grips around your work and does not slip off when squeezed. One small issue–when used to remove a push connector from pipe, it scratches the pipe a little bit on the way out, leaving potential pathways for leakage if the pipe is reused. This could be remedied by using a scratch-resistant coating on the contact surfaces on the “pipe” side of the tool.

Easy to use. Removes 3 different sizes. Works well in tight spots.

best tool I’ve had so far for removing sharkbite fittings

My soul ! makes sharkbite fittings to easy to remove.
TIP ! – I have found if you squeeze the tool too tight, the fitting doesn’t come off. try light squeeze and pull either fitting, or pipe.
I have tried those silly C shaped plastic gadgets. So frustrating to use.
this tool is expensive, but worth every penny

Why don’t they sell this at Home Depot!! I could have used this a few years ago! It makes removing Shark Bites so easy and soooo much quicker too. The only downfall is if your Shark Bite is in a very confined space and when dealing with a Tee Shark Bite due to the ridges on the Shark Bite itself.
It’s definitely worth the money to have in your plumbing tool bag.

ย Forget using those little orange rings, also donโt bother with the smaller โpincherโ tool that can be bought. When it comes to shark bite, this is a must have. I had a really tight space where I couldnโt get my fingers in and this tool did the job. The pipe will almost fall off.

Really eliminates the frustration of removing a Sharkbite connection. Don’t waste your time on other methods. Buy once, cry once. It is worth it.

Amazing , ยฝ” to 1″ easiest shark bite removal I’ve ever been a part of. Game changer!!! Also people S.B. are for temp use don’t use em for permanent plumbing solutions.

Iโve had several other off brand for shark bite fittingโฆ.. should have bought these first!!!!
Great tool well made and gets even the older corrosion fittings off with very little effort
This tool is a great example for buying the tool made for the namesake
Take the fight out of the fitting with a shark bite

For years I used that little orange hourseshoe release, and it was a pain to use. I had sore fingers hand hands afterwards, and some time it took me 5 minutes to get it off, or just cut them off. This tool made it like 2 seconds to get the pipes off. It is expensive, but saves me so much time, and pain. Sometimes the right tool can make all the difference.

I have been using sharkbites as a diy person for years. They are kind of a pain to get separated with the little black washer looking thing. I checked out the removal tool at the local hardware store, and I could hardly compress the toll, let alone with a sharkbite in it.
I bought these somewhat expensive plier things to give them a shot. They worked pretty good and it was easy to remove the pex from a 1/2″ sharkbite.
Fast forward a few days. I am under a manufactured home in the mud from a leaking pipe. I am stretched out laying over a 3 or 4 inch PVC waste line reaching out as far as I can. There is a 3/4″ sharkbite connected to the water mail line. I grab this tool and put it on the connector. I squeeze the tool and the 3/4″ line slides right out. It was so easy. Worked perfectly.
This tool feels sturdy, like it will last for years. I am very happy I spent the money on the tool.

It works quite well in most instances except for if you have 2 sharkbite connectors in a row and no exposed pex between, even a 1/4″ would have been enough but without that it won’t work but that’s unlikely in most cases. It’s a little pricey but you don’t have to salvage many fitting for reuse to make it pay for itself.
