This worked great until one day when it suddenly crapped out. The screen stopped working suddenly, then it was sporadically rapidly beeping, and now it doesn’t work at all.
**Update: the seller saw my review and replaced the kettle, no questions asked!
All-in-all, the temperature control is a little imprecise, but it’s a really sleek looking kettle for the price. I still think that it may be worth investing in a higher-end kettle, but it’s good to know the seller will support any issues.

I love this kettle! It looks great, has no logos on it, only a single dial with a screen in the middle for controls. People who come to my home comment on how nice it looks.
It heats water quickly, is very easy to use, and has thoughtful features such as reducing the heating power when temps get higher so that it doesn’t make as much noise as other kettles.
The only potential downside for some people is that it does not pour fast. You have to be patient, the water flows out of the gooseneck spout at a very controlled pace. It takes 30 seconds or so to empty it from full.

For $60 dollars and basically the same functionality as the Stagg, this is a good kettle. Pours great, temperature control is sweet.
Here are my qualms.
1) Unit had 2 small rust spots on bottom plate, only used it one time.
-for me this is a deal breaker, doesn’t bode well for the longevity of the product.
2) When you unplug the base, the settings for HOLD and Temp Unit ( C vs F ) reset everytime. Since they are not a manual switch (like on the stagg), it loses this memory upon loss of power, so you need to change the settings everytime if you unplug it after use. Mildly annoying.
I would definitely keep the kettle if it didn’t have the rust spots, but I want the kettle to last so I am returning. If the hold and units settings were changed to little switches, it would be more pleasurable.

I was looking forward to using this kettle to make coffee.
Instructions say that on first use you should fully boil some water in the kettle to clean it. I filled the kettle to the MAX line and set the temp to 212. But when the water boiled, it started spewing out of the vent holes at the top! I didn’t exceed the max line but it was shooting out boiling water and steam everywhere. I was able to turn it off without getting too close, but the water got all over it and shorted out the control button. Now it doesn’t even work! I was literally following instructions and the instructions broke this thing. Shows the lack of thought they put into this product- I recommend you go elsewhere for a kettle

I used to have a Stagg kettle and I actually prefer the design of this one. I love the minimalism of the combined display/button and that kettle is a solid black, no silver on the handle, no logos etc. It gets five stars purely for the design and price point. Unfortunately it does tend to overshoot temperatures if they are above 200F – if I set it at 205 to brew coffee it will go straight to boiling and then take a long time to come back down. I’ve gotten around this by selecting a slightly lower temp, say 201, knowing it will overshoot.

I’m replacing an oversized, 1500 watt kettle. It just wasn’t nice to use for coffee. It was many years old.
I chose this one, mainly because it had large rubber feet/pads. It had a simple looking interface. It checked all the feature/boxes I needed. Temp control, a hold timer…. Simplicity.
Setting temperature is super easy. Twist the dial. It’s fast, predictable and intuitive. It’s not a poor software implementation for a dial. It’s not overly clunky.
You can choose a hold time of 10 or 60 minutes in the settings.
There were a lot of things I considered along the way as I read reviews about kettles like this. In the end, with this one, I just hit the button. I enjoy the pour. Many “features” I read along the way in reviews…. …. zomg I need a tea setting, I need a fast boil button?, I need it to hold forever at X temp….. Honestly I just appreciate nice design. IMO this interface, is easy, and has yet to get in the way. Since I learned I was probably doing tea wrong, I even brewed some tea by quickly setting the temp and brewing some tea. I don’t need a setting or tea button 🙂 It’s quick!
What I’m saying is, this is an inexpensive, seemingly well built and well executed little kettle. The spout is polished nicely, and had a protection rubber thing on it. I’ve not compared it to other kettles via experience, but nothing about it annoys me. In fact I really appreciate that it doesn’t get in my way with gimmicks or button clicks.
I was a little worried it would feel slow (1200w vs old 1500w), or ramp poorly (diminishing returns as heat/resistance rises…)… It’s fine. It’ll overshoot a bit sometimes, but that’s also fine. Usually the temp settles at the correct temp quickly. It’s small, so I usually top off the water when I’m done and it’ll get it up to temp for my next cup soonish… That’s my flow.
Zero regrets on this purchase. And I’m in fact glad I wasn’t persuaded by other peoples perceived needs when reading a bunch of reviews. I really like this simple design. Soft beeps. No lights when off. Doesn’t look like a spaceship.
Oh, I’ve used the stop watch/clock for pouring. meh, you have to pres the button for quite a while, and it begins a quick countdown…. The countdown is under my thumb 🙂 So maybe I’m a few seconds late making sure I pressed long enough? But hey if you want a little timer, it’s there 🙂 One quick tap exits that. One quick tap normally will just cut the thing off if you are done with it, and not in the timer.
Good job on this little kettle. That’s my opinion.
