The unlock and lock is a bit different on this knife. After getting use to it I really like it. Lost one of these and promptly ordered another to replace it.

Just received the knife about an hour ago. I have been waiting with anticipation, as I have another SOG knife which was really sharp. As soon as I took it out of the box and put my finger on the blade, I could tell it was extremely dull. Wouldn’t even cut through toilet paper. Extremely disappointed. Maybe I got a dud, but quality control should be way better. Returning immediately.

I love SOG knives. I got my first one 10 years ago. Only draw back was the belt/ pocket clip. It always stuck out and caught on things or bent. Well it broke and I can’t find a replacement. Anyway. I found this for my son to use as his hiking, fishing knife. He helps me clean fish with it and I can still shave my arm with it after several uses. Much better than over hyped and over priced Benchmade that won’t hold an edge.

SOG has produced a near perfect edc, if it was a half to three quarters of an inch longer, for me at least, it’s too small for my hand. If it wer larger, and they would eliminate the useless thumb studs, it would be a near perfect edc. The lock mechanism is outstanding!

This is my first SOG knife and I’m quite surprised by how much I like it. It’s easily one of (if not, the) best knifes in this price range. The XR lock is a bit heavy but it is reliable and strong and otherwise the knife is fantastic. The bearings that the blade rotates on are fast and smooth. The thumb stud and flipper both work great, and combined with the XR lock make for a fun fidget knife. Out-of-the-box sharpness is 10/10. Highly recommend!
