SonicWall TZ270 High Availability Description
- High Availability (HA) allows two identical SonicWALL appliances running SonicOS to be configured to provide a reliable, continuous connection. One SonicWALL device is configured as the Primary unit, and an identical SonicWALL device is configured as the Secondary unit. If the Primary SonicWALL fails, the Secondary SonicWALL takes over to secure a reliable connection between the protected network and the Internet. Two appliances configured in this way function as a High Availability Pair.

- SonicWall Switch, SonicWave Access Point and Capture Client integration

NOT A FULL FIREWALL! Buyer BEWARE!
This is probably my fault for being new to Sonicwall but this is a “High Availability” device, NOT a “Primary” device. This firewall does not allow for many features to be activated. I purchased the 3 year Essential Protection Service Suite for the SonicWall TZ270 and it will not install on this device. I have to spend another ~$170 to get a license to make it a “Primary” device.
The description does not say that this is a limited firewall, but it is. Buyer BEWARE!
The seller shipped when they said. They had a phone number and I was able to get an answer about this very quickly.

Don’t make the mistake I did…this is high availability only! Not a standalone firewall curently in failover configuration only. Had to convert the product to standalone by purchasing conversion from Sonicwall in order to use all features SSLVPN, Content filter, etc. The cost was another $288.00 each SonicWall I purchased. Completely my mistake.
