This speaker is good at a few things.
Pairs easily, connects easily, stays connected well.
First charge took awhile, at least 4 hours.
Price isn’t bad, but when something is advertised as “Extra Bass”, it needs to live up to that.
This did not.
Not only is the bass weak, it’s almost non-existent.
Songs I play every day actually sound different to me through this speaker, because there is literally no bass at all.
It just sounds weird. It’s like they intentionally removed the bass so it wouldn’t buzz when it was called upon.
Remember the old car stereos that came with EQs? This sounds like one of those with all the bass cut completely out.

I’ve been having trouble finding a reliable, decent-sounding bluetooth speaker for my laptop. A friend recommended this one. I was dubious due to its small size — as my previous experience with speakers so small was that the sound was distorted and lacking in bass. Boy, was I surprised at how clear the sound is, and that it clearly has bass. I mostly listen to speaking voices and some music on my laptop and just wanted a step up in sound quality. I thought I might have to get bookshelf speakers, but no — this little guy is more than doing the job! Amazed and impressed. Just don’t expect audiophile sound — it is what it is, but at this size, and price, it’s fabulous!

The battery life is great, the size is also very nice and portable. The sound is also good but was a little disappointed by the amount of bass since it is hard to find a smaller blue tooth speaker with good bass. Overall happy with the purchase but could use more bass.

I was skeptical of sound quality since all YouTube reviewers mention some other brand speaker (JBL, Soundcore, โinsert brand hereโ) is better sounding, has more bass, blah, blah, blahโฆ Iโve been using a JBL charge 3 and JBL Xtreme 1 for a few years now. But when I first connected to this Sony XB13, I was amazed at how clear and well balanced it was. It is not a loud speaker, but it is loud enough to be able to hear your music indoors and out. Oddly enough, I find the sound quality to be better than the JBL charge 3, albeit, it is not as loud as the charge 3 and doesnโt have as much bass. However, if you prefer a clear sounding speaker that doesnโt sound muffled because itโs trying to make more bass, this is a speaker you must try. In terms of physical size, the diameter is about the same as a charge 3 (slightly smaller) and length wise, you will need 2.5 XB13s to be the same length as 1 charge 3. The quality of material is also very nice. It may not be as durable as the charge 3 if you are throwing it around and dropping it often because it will get scuffed and scratched, but I figure by the time it gets sufficiently damaged on the exterior, there will be a better speaker on the market at a similarly affordable price. All in all, I highly recommend this speaker!

I’m currently driving an old car and wanted a small speaker to stream music on. This fits inside my cup holder and has a bigger sound than I imagined. What’s really nice is once I press the power on mode it automatically goes into bluetooth pairing mode.

These little speakers pack a surprising punch. They produce amazing sound quality, individually or paired as a set. The extra bass is real! Battery life is very good, lasting a full workday, but I just keep mine plugged into my work computer for “set and forget” convenience. Pairing a set was slightly confusing, but I figured it out after reading the instructions carefully. Once the set is paired together, they pair with a phone or tablet as one source, so you have high-quality immersive sound with every use. Once again, Sony has produced a superior product at an excellent value. I bought two, and so should you! Also makes a great gift for any audiophile!

Fills our condo with robust sound quality at 3/4 volume level. We purchased two speakers for stereo effect and this has proved a good choice. Pairing the two speakers was fairly easy- 5 minutes of trial and error to get them working. Battery life may be a little limited, but overall very satisfied with the speakers
