These are good, simple water shorts. They fit well and are comfortable with a thick waist band that stays in place in strong surf. I am six feet tall- the XL comes down to just above my knees, basically as pictured. There is a lining, one side pocket on each side, and a single velcro cargo pocket. These are not the fastest drying water shorts I have had, but they dry well enough. Aesthetics are subjective, but I think they look pretty good and have received compliments on them.
One issue- I have an older pair where one of the ringlets for the ties at the waist popped off after a couple of years. It stills ties for now, but not ideal durability.
