My daughter just started a suzuki strings school and loves her 1/16th violin. Not particularly high quality but not particularly low quality either. She will need to change sizes to 1/8th probably within the next half year. This was a perfect starting violin! Good bow, easy to tune, nice fine adjusters, and prelude strings!

I bought a violin and expected from the wide variety it will be something better than from China, However, the bridge was not in parallel set up, the string didn’t have the same distance between them,
The high of the string was completely different, the tail was placed not straight. So have the small experience, I really recommend to go with the teacher and check the proper one.

I bought this violin on a whim to revisit lessons after 20 years-ish of not playing. I have been actively using my violin for over a year and, as expected, it is sounding better as it ages (with use). I purchased the same brand of violin recently for my 5 year old son who just started lessons.
Following other’s advice, I bought a separate set of strings. The case (with backpack straps), bow, and rosin are good quality. I swapped out my chin rest for one designed to sit more towards the middle of the violin and got a shoulder rest. . . and the coolest teacher ever. 😉

Really good quality! Only thing is that they don’t cover the bow for travel in the mail so the bow get a tangled in the clamp other than that I love it! And the case is good to!

I’ll keep you updated if anything bad occurs…

I purchased this violin for my wife for Christmas as she has been wanting to learn the violin for years. Its hard to find fair reviews online but after some digging I was relatively confident in my purchase.

Overall I have to say this is a great value purchase for a mid-level violin for an adult to start on. Critiques below.

Sound – According to the instructor the violin has very good tone for its price range. He actually complemented the body, but said the strings are relatively poor and should be replaced. I imagine cheap strings are typical similar to low-mid guitars and you should always invest in the more expensive ones to maximize value.

Pegs – Never touching a violin before, I had problems with the pegs. You have to really jam them in there and twist to get them to set. They work, but it would be nice if they had a little more grip on them.

Case – The case is very good, hard molded and protects the violin effectively. This likely eliminates 99% of shipping damage that can occur with mailing this kind of equipment around. Case also has a humidity sensor, a cubby for accessories, and a locking hanger to secure the bow.

Bow – The bow works very well, no complaints.

First: I have studied music and play the piano but have never learned to play a violin. My review is based on the teacher’s comments, my granddaughter’s reactions and my own observations.

I almost gave this 5 stars (rating it strictly as a beginner’s instrument) but was afraid that it would be misleading. It is not a great violin but certainly well worth the price I paid for it. The price on these violins seem to change occasionally … I got lucky and paid well under $100 for the pink one here on Amazon. Within a week the price had risen again. So if you are interested in one of these I recommend you keep an eye on the listings for awhile before purchasing.
This one was purchased for my 7 yr. old granddaughter who had been taking lessons on a rented violin for nearly a year. As it appears that she intends to stick with it and she was moving up from a 1/4 sized violin I decided it was time to purchase one rather than continue to rent. Rentals locally are approximately $20 – $25 per month so this violin will pay for itself in only a few months.
Her teacher is a bit fussy but he still found it an acceptable instrument. The sound is not bad. The violin is very pretty and the bow is sized to fit well with the violin. The case is surprisingly nice — nicely padded and well designed. The shoulder strap makes it much easier for a little one to carry around.
I really hesitated to buy a less-than traditional looking violin. I was concerned that the painted finish might affect the sound or it would appear to be more of a toy and less an instrument for serious study. I am glad I decided to buy it anyway. Our little girl just loves it and seems to be even happier to practice on her “special” violin. If it the color helps keep their interest up than it is worth it.
