Product came in terrible condition, the outer box seemed mostly fine but there was a large distinct chip in the front face of the body along the edge. I heavily expect this was there before it was packaged.

All I can say is PERFECT. Everything about this guitar is perfect especially how it plays and sounds. Could not be happier. The action is amazing and set up perfectly right out of the box.

I remember when Takamine made quality guitars; I worked for a dealer back in the 90’s and always recommended them to buyers. They’ve fallen off a cliff if this guitar is an example of their current quality.
The guitar I received had a warped neck (wavy/ski jump), the bridge saddles were too low and the bridge was already lifting (horrible factory glue job). It is completely unplayable as all the notes choke out past the 3rd fret. It would need the fingerboard planed and a new fret job to be playable. It also had some of the worst fret sprout I’ve ever experienced; this isn’t just minor sprout from wood shrinkage, I almost cut myself as I ran my hand down the neck. On top of that, there was no battery installed/included, so I couldn’t even turn on the tuner or plug the guitar in. The factory paint was also atrocious; I could feel the ripples of the uneven spray job running my fingernail across it and it almost looks like the top might have a stress crack in it.
Needless to say, this is going back. If you see one of these show up in Amazon Warehouse, DON’T BUY IT!

As a music pastor, I have the privilege of playing guitar nearly every day. I love trying new guitars when I have the chance, and I was pleasantly surprised with the tonal quality this jumbo delivers across the full range of lows, mids, and highs. It sounds warm and full unplugged, and the built-in TK-40D preamp carries this same quality quite well through your sound system, though it is customizable enough to give you plenty of added brightness or depth for a particular set or taste.
It produces plenty of volume, though the dreadnaught I use most often is still much louder unplugged. The materials are about what you’d expect for this price range, but it feels very solid in hand, and sounds like a much more “premium” guitar. The thing that impressed me most, however, was how clean this guitar sounds, even when strumming relatively hard. If you’re a rhythm guitarist, you won’t struggle with this instrument sounding muddy or distorted unless you’re really trying. For what I do, I highly recommend this G-series Takamine Jumbo.
Yes, there are many better or comparable guitars out there – but a scant few are this affordable. For this reason, I give the GJ72CE a solid 5 stars.
