Chris –
Love this sleeping bag. Great for all seasons that I have been in

Very comfortable. Blue piece unzips full like a blanket. Yellow piece is half that size and zippers in forc cold weather.

I am 5’9″ and weigh 205 pounds. I sleep on an 8″ air mattress. Night #1–It got down to 35 F and my back was very cold. I had to put on my down jacket to get warm. My legs and feet were ok even without socks on. You have 2 move 2 zippers to open and close which was very cumbersome. I have an older 25 F Kelty, and my back was never this cold. I was going to return this until I reconfigured the placement of the layers. Night #2– I put the thick layer on top and the 2 thinner layers together, this allowed me to sleep on top of the 2 layers and have the thick as my top layer. Also, doing this only required 1 zipper to get in. (I’m not sure why North Face didn’t think of this, but it is much better this way. The intended way is to sleep on top of only 1 thin layer which doesn’t make sense.) Much better in 30 F! Night #3–I replaced the 8″ air mattress with a 2″ self inflating pad and that proved to make all the difference at this temperature. I stayed very warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this bag, but cannot stress enough that you need a good pad which helps insulate you from the cold underneath. I purchased the long, and glad I did. With my CPAP, I can get way down inside the bag and sleep wonderfully now that I reconfigured the layers and got a decent pad. I’m now ready for my motorcycle trip to Colorado! Anything worth having is worth the time to modify. Nothing is easy 🙂 Safe travels and adventures to All!

I have used this for over a year every night the ability to control temp with just the layers is top notch great overall. I have washed multiple times with no issues. Each piece fully unzips an can be washed separate.
Moosewalk –
Not as lightweight as I thought but very comfy and warm. Carrying bag is not a compression sack.
Amazon Customer –
I really want to love this sleeping bag, because it has layers for warmer and colder weather.
But the zippers are very confusing.
if you unzip the layers,
you will never get it back together.
So if you want to wash the sleeping bag, you cannot take it apart, you have to wash the whole thing.
Samwise –
Using for Fall and Winter car camping. Good choice for multiple temperature ranges. Well made and in Long size.

I live in Austin, Texas and we recently had a series of ice storms that killed the power to my apartment for 7 days. This sleeping bag saved my dog and me from freezing to death. It is light weight and easy enough to carry. If I was going backpacking I would pick something much lighter depending on the duration of my trip. What’s spectacular about the layering system is you can adjust the thickness of the layers between you and the cold thus tailoring your experience for whatever weather you are dealing with. Great price! Great Product!
