Timex Expedition Men’s Metal Field Watch

After wearing and using this Timex watch, I am mostly happy and satisfied with my purchase. Allow me to explain; it does everything advertised and more. The watch is elegant, and keeps time. Easy to use. My dislikes: the case is very small, almost as it were made for a child. The leather band is hard and not very pliable. I have medium to small hands, but the watch does not buckle on the center of my wrist so it is always sitting to the side; again as it were designed for a child and not an adult. Again, nothing wrong with the watch, it’s just a design flaw if the intended use is an adult. In my excitement I threw the packaging away before wearing it, otherwise I would return it. Check the specifications before purchase, nice watch.

For an simple, functional, daily wear watch, this looks ~so~ much better than just about every watch I looked at (at least 30 different models.) I instantly loved it and have not stopped wearing it since it arrived. The colors go well with just about everything you can imagine, the off-white face with black details is easy to read (with or without the light), the date is large enough to be read without ruining the overall design, and the clean lines of the case present a quite refined look.

This is a traditional sized men’s watch, so be sure to check the diameter of the case before you order. Large watches have been in vogue for some time (no further comments) but this is the same size as the couple of old watches I have that date back to the late 70’s and early 80’s.The band is a padded leather with an imprint on one side (a stylized E) which feels nice, even on warm days. I have not seen any staining or discoloration of the leather with normal wear, although it’s not the highest quality leather out there. The band is of standard design, so you’ll be able to get a different color or style easily (not all watches use a standard band design, so be ready for that.)

If you are looking for a functional, clean looking watch that is both reliable and smart looking, able to handle being work with jeans and a tee shirt or a blazer and tie, something that won’t be ruined if you hold your umbrella for a lady on a rainy day, then look no further. If you are more interested in a tea saucer with knobs on that shouts ‘Hey! Everybody! Check out my watch!!’ you might want to look elsewhere…

Excelente reloj, buen diseño, buena funcionalidad y un precio muy atractivo. En las imágenes pareciera de un color bronce algo extraño pero es en realidad color acero con su acabado cepillado. La correa de cuero que incluye es de buena calidad con varios detalles interesantes, pero en mi opinión hace ver al reloj como un artículo más antiguo, le da un carácter más serio, por eso adjunto algunas fotos con correa NATO (no incluida) para que observes lo bien que se ve utilizando otras opciones. La esfera no es totalmente blanca, si no que tiene un tono crema muy sutil que le da un toque vintage. Los números y marcadores perfectamente impresos le dan un look más moderno que otros relojes de la serie Expedition, recordando a otro Hamilton Khaki, en este caso el Titanium Auto. También hace considerablemente menos ruido que mi Expedition Scout. Muy recomendado, aunque a veces sube mucho de precio, lo mejor es esperarlo en una oferta, porque a pesar de su excelente diseño sigue siendo un reloj de cuarzo con caja de latón.

Timex watches have ALWAYS been my goto for watches! Never had a digital watch and never will! Expedition watches ate rugged and utilitarian, which fits my lifestyle. I go tough on my watches, and Timex always cones through.
Yes, the leather watchband broke after 2 months of wearing, but like I said, I treat watches harshly. Never had a complaint with pass-through nylon fabric watchbands. They hardly fail ever, so thats what I replaced that Chinese leather band for a cheap but good Chinese nylon fabric pass-through band. Ten different colored bands for $15 tou can’t beat that!

Great timepiece, tried, trusted and true, I have other watches, but I always choose this one. Just my go to.

For those of us who don’t need Rolex, or even Bulova, written across the face of our watch, this Timex is a great (and affordable) choice -especially if your work or hobbies result in physical perils for your watch. I bought this Timex to replace my former Timex- pretty much the same model. After nearly 20 years of hard use, the old one’s christal was scratched to the point of being hard to read. I’d worn out about eight watch bands but the watch never gave me a problem.
The new watch, when it arrived, was easier to read, its night light, superb. I expect the same long life from it as from previous Timexes. and its nice to have a new one. The watch is attractive with an excellent leather band, and I think it is easier to set than my previous one. Overall, I’m very pleased with my watch and of course, it’s reasonable price.
