VASAGLE Electric Standing Desk with Drawers

Full disclosure, I received this item as part of Amazon’s Vine Program in exchange for an honest review, good or bad. I have had a lot of experience putting this style of knockdown IKEA like furniture. It took me about 1.5 hours to assemble by myself. Once it is put together, it is very sturdy for a particle board desk. The legs are extremely well-made. They are also very heavy, and there is one stage in the assembly process where I could have used a second person. They also have you build it upside down, and you are going to need a second person to help you flip it.

Design and function wise, I really like the desk. The desktop is made into two pieces, so there is a seam on top, which I don’t like. It saves on shipping, which is why this did it that way. There are two other parts on the desk that I do not like. The first is the drawers. They are cloth and wire frame, like some of the cloth crates you see at Target. This would be fine except they do not fit the opening very well. They are too tall and so the fit is very tight. The drawer pulls are also very cheaply made. If you put a lot of papers in the drawer, I don’t think they will last very long. I will probably opt not to use them. It still looks and functions good without them.

The other thing I don’t like is the control panel. It works well, but is feels very cheap, being made out of inexpensive plastic. If you bang into it very much, I think it would crack pretty easily. I wish they would have made it out of ABS plastic, or the same type of plastics power tools are made from. Then it would hold up for years. Functionally, it works well though and allows you to program three different heights.

Finally, I put the wheels on the desk, and it raise it up enough that, at its lowest position, someone 5 foot 9 inches or shorter will probably find it too high. This can be solved with an under mounted keyboard tray, or don’t use the wheels. The standing height is plenty high, even for very tall people. Overall, I like the desk, and it works great for anyone needing a standing desk.

I was really happy with the instruction manual. This was a very daunting piece of furniture to put together; however, the instruction manual is thorough and the images are detailed enough to keep you right on track, piece by piece, step by step! The desk definitely took awhile to assemble (4-5 hours for me), but it wasn’t difficult, and I was able to do it alone. Assembly may be quicker with two people.

Once assembled, the desk itself is really great! There’s a lot of small touches and attention to detail that really make a difference. I love the color changing LED strip – I had no idea it came with that and it made my day!

The sit stand function works great. Outlets work great. I honestly have no complaints.

 I have many good things to say about the desk and my only criticism is ultimately more of a personal problem. The desk raises to be right at 40” tall from the main level. The upper decks where you place monitors and etc are 47” at fully extension. I am fairly tall for a woman (~6ft) and using this with a walking pad primarily. I will be getting an additional add on stand for my laptop to bring the screen up to height. That being said, I felt this could be an issue for me and I purchased this specific desk because of the optional wheels. I will be installing those today and likely that will give me the added boost I need with getting the keyboard and mouse raised to where would be most comfortable for me.

The construction of the desk is very good. It did take my partner and a few days of putting it together but that was more situational for time management and sanity. It could be done within a few hours by 1 person but I do feel having a helper is best because of the weight.

Overall, great product and good price. I researched for several weeks before landing on this listing.

The desk is decent looking but its particle board – it came chipped and damaged on a corner. Weird thing is I had a bad feeling and tried to cancel and couldn’t and then to return is 60.00 so overall got screwed on this one.

Update: they refunded and rectified the issue.
