Veken Electric Kettle, 1.7L, Digital Temperature Control

I just got this Veken electric tea kettle 4 days ago. I have used it every day. So far it is working as advertised. The control panel is responsive to touch and it heats up quickly. I timed it on a full kettle heat and it consistently took 5 to 6 minutes to heat the full kettle. It is light and easy to handle. I didn’t get any drips from the spout. What I didn’t like was the strainer in the lid. It is plastic with mesh and I didn’t want the plastic in there. So I took a flat head screwdriver and pried gently above the strainer and one side popped out and I was able to easily remove the strainer. One bad thing now out of the way. I didn’t like that the lid didn’t open very far. So I pushed up gently on the lid and it moved up to another detent. This makes it so much easier to clean. This was obviously built into the function of the lid but was not mentioned in the instructions. I learned quickly to hold the handle about half way from the top when pouring to avoid the hot steam that rises from the back sides of the lid. These were the things that kept me from giving the kettle 5 stars and the fact that I haven’t had it long enough to see if anything else negative will pop up. For the price and the functions I don’t think you will find a better kettle out there. If anything comes up in the coming months I will update my review.

This kettle does exactly what I needed it to do. I drink French Press coffee and my husband drinks Mushroom coffee (so we need two different heated water temperatures), so this is the perfect kettle for that. Heats quickly. The bottom of the kettle and the top of the plate you set it on to heat do not get hot at all. I’ve noticed some reviews of complaints on the touch pad – it’s a touch screen, slamming finger tips into the screen is not intuitive at all. I use the pad of my thumb or index finger (as does my husband) and we have had no issues working the touch screen. I did “experiment” with using just my fingertip and it does not respond as well, but you’re not getting the same amount of contact. There are also complaints about how it never turns off if it stays on the heating pad… Kind of … well. Duh. I purchased a $3 ceramic cheese tray to set the warming plate on and the kettle on and it looks nice. Why would you want to leave an electric kettle on it’s warming plate when you’re not around or home?? Don’t believe the negative reviews. This kettle is great.

this is a very nice electric kettle
the quality is great made of glass,plastic and steel, light and easy to use just plug base in put kettle on and choose how hot you want the water it has 4 built in settings and you could also set your own temps
it takes lest that 5 minutes to boil water to 212, keeps water warm maybe 2 to about 5 minutes
i have never left water in it longer because i drink a lot of cocoa or tea
the only caveat is cleaning i have big hands and cover does not open wide enough
so after using it for at least a month i clean with distilled vinegar and water using long reach brush

my wife accidentally broke my first one so i bought another
that’s how much i like this kettle and the price was even better than the first time

It worked great for 1 day then stuck at 80 and doesn’t boil anymore! I tried to unplug/replug, re boil, Tea button…none seems to heat up the water!
Return & avoid!
Update 6/25/24: seller has reached out a few days later & sent me a replacement. This one works perfectly until now which is one month from the first used. Great design! Love the warmer function & temperatures control!
