I purchased two of these, and so far I have installed one of them. I decided to move, so I’m waiting until I am in my new place before I use the second monitor stand. The first one was easy to attach to the VESA mounts on my monitor, but I didn’t want to move my desk out from the wall because it would require that I unplug almost everything on the desk, so I stretched and reached and wiggled my way under the desk to place the stand with the monitor already attached in the correct place and then tighten the stand so that it was firmly attached to the desk. In retrospect, if you will be reaching across a desk like I did, you should definitely wait to attach the monitor until after you have the stand clamped to the desk. Now that it is attached, it seems to be doing its job fairly well. The monitor is off my desk, so I can use the space for other things, and I feel fairly confident that the stand will remain attached and my monitor will remain safe. This stand does not adjust easily. I don’t remember it claiming to do so, but just in case you think it will, I can tell you that it will not. It will adjust the height and angle of the monitor, just not super easily. You might actually have to use the included hex wrenches to loosen the stand arm in order to adjust the height, which would mean reaching across the desk again, so I probably won’t try to adjust the height until I have to reinstall it at my new place. The construction quality seems fine. The stand seems strong enough to do the job it claims it can. The price was good. So, overall, amazon basics offers a decent quality item at a good price, unlike the backpack that I purchased in 2017 that is just about a joke. It has so much padding around the “laptop” sections that I was only able to carry two textbooks at a time to class. It had a special place for my cell phone with a small port that you could feed your headphones through, which seems neat, but is worthless because the idea of putting your phone in the backpack where you can’t easily get to it is just dumb. I did not do anything good for myself when I bought the amazon basics backpack, but these monitor stands are pretty good, so I can recommend them to anyone looking for cheap, decent, not particularly impressive stands, but that do what they are supposed to, to anyone looking for stands that attach to a desk with a screw down clamp. If that is you, then buy them…just don’t buy the backpack, cause it is not good.

I originally bought this monitor arm for a 38 inch ultrawide. This did not work out due to the vesa mount on the monitor needing an adapter (should have double checked before purchase).

Instead of sending the monitor back, I instead decided to use an old 27 inch (~12 lb) monitor instead. This works great, with no sag or similar problems.

Maneuverability is also pretty good on the monitor, with a decent range of up and down as well as side to side motions. It can be difficult to get the monitor in some positions due to how the arm works, but it’s really not too big of a deal.

Overall, well worth the asking price. The build quality is great (no worrying about monitor falling or breaking) and the price is fair. Absolutely get this if you fit within the specified ranges (mainly weight).

I waited a few weeks to do the review so I could test it out because to me 2 or 3 day reviews just aren’t enough time to give an honest review. I have had it for a month now and use it for a 27inch Samsung gaming Monitor and it works great. It has great build quality and it’s easy to assemble. There are no issues with sagging, leaning or tilting. I would say that if you need an arm that you are going to be moving up and down, tilting and rotating every single day then you might want one that has a little more versatility or has easier adjusting options, but if (like me) you just need a mount, and you are going to set up, get adjusted and not move it much then I don’t think you will find one any better than this. The wife saw it and liked it so I will be buying a second one with no hesitations.

That is my setup in the photo! The clamp hold is super strong I was scared at first but it has a very strong hold. The monitor mount has a strong hold too and came with two different types of screws to ensure to best mount for different monitors. The moveable arm has tightening features to ensure your monitor stays in the perfect position. This is heavy duty, great quality, and a great price!! 10/10 100% recommend.

This VIVO stand is super cool! It’s really strong because it’s made of heavy steel. It’s not fancy, just simple and does its job perfectly.

Putting it together was easy, but my desk made it a little tricky. The clamp that holds it needed some careful screwing, especially in my small space. But once it was on, it stayed put.

I’m using the clamp to hold two big monitors, and they look awesome! Even though one monitor needed a small change to fit, it stays steady and doesn’t spin around.

I’ve been using it for a week now, and it makes my desk look awesome. It’s strong and keeps my monitors right where I want them. I would give it 5 stars and tell my friends to get one too!

Hasn’t failed me yet and it’s easy to put up.

It’s holding good with a gigabyte m32uc so it can handle weight just fine.

Me encantรณ.

This VIVO stand exceeded my expectations. It’s heavy, made of solid steel throughout. The design is simple and straightforward – no frills, just does what it’s supposed to.

Assembly is pretty easy, but your desk setup may complicate things.

The stand’s clamp attaches to the bottom of the vertical pipe by means of three screws. Getting these in and tight is a somewhat fiddly operation, and you’ll need to do it before you try to attach the clamp on your desk. This can make the stand awkward to maneuver, if your space is as cramped as mine. (I actually have a low-hanging shelf that forced me to attach the horizontal arm before mounting the clamp.) There’s not much Vivo can do about this – just try to have a second set of hands available if your desk sits against a wall and is covered with wiring and delicate electronics.

The clamp itself is massive, and has a huge aperture – almost double what I needed to grip the edge of my two-inch thick desktop (formerly a solid-wood door). The clamp has rubber facing for extra grip – it’s rock solid once you hand-tighten it. (I didn’t try the alternative attachment, but a heavy metal plate is included that would let you mount the stand through a hole in the middle of a larger surface.)

The horizontal arm for the stand is quite long when extended, which is great – but it can actually present a challenge if your desk surface isn’t unusually deep. In my case, I found that if I mounted the clamp directly behind the center of my monitor, the arm would be much too long and I’d end up with my nose touching the screen. The solution was to offset the clamp about a a foot horizontally from the center of the monitor and put a a 45-degree bend in the arm’s elbow joint.

Attaching to the VESA mount on my monitor was a bit tricky. The plastic back of the monitor is recessed around the VESA mounting area, and the Vivo attachment plate fit neatly in this depression. Unfortunately, the lip of the depression was just high enough to prevent me from sliding the mounting plate onto the mating track on the end of the Vivo’s horizontal arm. The stand does include plastic stand-offs and long screws for use with “curved” monitor backs, but I found these were about twice the height I really needed with my monitor’s flat but slightly indented back. Instead I just used a few tiny washers under each of the four VESA screws, which raised the mounting plate just high enough to slide nicely onto the track.

Once set up, the Vivo stand gave me a huge range of adjustment. I positioned my monitor so the bottom edge was about 7 inches above my desktop. This fulfilled my chief aim in purchasing the stand – the monitor now sits about two inches higher than its original factory stand would allow. Even at that height, the Vivo stand still has about another inch of upward travel available on its vertical column.

Despite the height and angled configuration of the horizontal arm, I’m astonished at the Vivo stand’s stability. My hefty 24-inch monitor shows absolutely no tendency at all to bounce or wobble. In fact, it seems more rigidly immovable than it was on its original telescoping stand. If you’re at all concerned about stability, forget it – this thing is rock-solid.

The Vivo stand includes several clips for organizing your monitor cables. I’m not sure I’ll use them. Like most monitors, mine has its cable jacks along the bottom edge, pointing downward. I’d have to bend the cables through 180 degrees in order to run them upward and along the stand’s horizontal arm. It feels a bit odd, but I may still do that… once I get around to the major re-wiring I’ve been putting off.

One other minor caution: the Vivo stand uses three different hex keys – you’ll need to use all three to assemble the stand, and at least two to adjust it. So be sure to hang on to the supplied keys (or have your own set handy) in case you ever want to change the monitor’s positioning. [EDIT: the plastic clip for securing wiring to the vertical column includes three narrow tubular pockets for storage of your hex keys. Nice.]

Overall, I’m blown away by the robustness of the Vivo stand. It’s really improved the ergonomics of my PC setup, and done a great job of de-cluttering my desk. I wish I’d bought one years ago.
