Update: Thermostat stopped working correctly after about 2 1/2 months. Contacted company via email and the problem was resolved. Good company.
Heats tent quickly and the temp probe works nicely; other reviews had me worried about it causing excessive on/off cycles. I wish that there was more installation options – maybe outside of the tent with the warm air blowing into a vent.

There’s something wrong with the electrical plug. For some reason you have to wiggle the cord around and tape it to get it to make good contact. I’m not happy with it at all and it’s too late to return it. Literally happened about one month after my return window closed. I think I have a warranty on it but now I gotta figure out how to do all that. The heater works perfect when it plugs into a regular plug. But it doesn’t work when it plugs into the unit. I wish there was someway of turning it back in and getting a replacement.

Instead of this product I’m using a lower end oil filled radiator heater that i bought on Amazon. The greenhouse is water tight and the only moisture is inside. It’s working much better than the vivosun which will be a portable heater laying around the house
I’m usually confident that when I buy a vivosun product it will be of good quality. This time I’m wrong. It feels cheaply made and the air flow is minimal. It’s just a glorified space heater sold as a specialty greenhouse heater, reflected in the price. I can’t imagine it being of any use to a greenhouse bigger than 6’ x 4’.

Got 2 of the units.com with the temperature gauge. One for my small greenhouse and the other for the garage; as they both get really cold In the winter season. Heater puts out good heat, and even cool breeze if it’s set to that setting. However; the heater does not turn off on its own when the room gets to a certain temperature. The temperature gauge it comes with works separately from the heater. It does detect the temperature of the room but it does not send a signal to the actual heater for it to turn off when it gets to the set temperature. I am guessing it’s because the 2 do not get hooked up together – 2 separate items. Giving it a 3 star since both items do work separately, very well, but the description said auto shot off without saying they didn’t work together. One would assume that you can set a temperature on the thermostat/temperature gage and heater will turn off on its on when it gets to that temperature. It dies not! You would have to turn it off yourself, so leaving it on for night time, when it’s usually the coldest, would not work. These will not work for a greenhouse or garage/shed that you’re using to put your plants in when it’s freezing outside, unless you’ll be able/willing to go check it every so often. The book that it comes with even says you have to check it. I did not see that anywhere in the description on Amazon. It says that it automatically shuts off but it looks like it’s only if the motor overheats. Returning both units.

After ordering 2 heaters for a greenhouse that they should have been able to handle and couldn’t I ordered this little guy. Well let me tell you it puts out big heat, all the great features that you want such as a thermostat, waterproof etc for cheaper than the others and I’m very very happy with it.

Here’s an update after a massive storm we had the thermostat on this heater does not work at all it’s terrible. But the heater was the only reason I didn’t lose any plants because it’s a workhorse. So I use the Japanese thermostat off the other terrible heaters. And that seemed to solve the problem

I use this mainly in the winter in my greenhouse. I have a lemon tree and a grapefruit tree in there. They are still alive. I love the thermostat. Tells you how hot the greenhouse is so you can adjust it. Works great. Great value for the money too.

This has kept my greenhouse warm for well over a month. We live in the PNW when temps drop low durning the evening. My house plants have stayed alive thus far. I even have a tomato coming in on a tomato plant IN DECEMBER!

The heater comes with a seperate temperature controller/thermostat. The small 15KW heater is adequate for a 6ft by 10 ft greenhouse. The seperate electronic thermostat has a high tempeature alarm but will not shut down heater when at high temp. It also has a very narrow band of 1 or 2 degrees. It thus tend to cycle the heater on/off at a high frequent rate. The heater itself does its job well and appears like a quality product. The separate electronic contrller is really not usable. its frequent on/off cycle will wear out the heater.

Bought 2 of these in preparation for the “arctic” weather predicted to hit Houston. I have 2 lemon trees – that while small – produced almost 200 lemons this season and I wanted to protect them. Together with my portable greenhouses (also from Amazon) – I placed one of these heaters inside each greenhouse – setting it on a concrete block (up off of ground and away from any potential ground moisture) about 4 feet from each tree. I used a heavy duty outdoor extension cord for power. Set up an outdoor camera in each greenhouse – which reads the $10 (Amazon) thermometer also placed inside of each greenhouse. So – I can monitor the temperature of the greenhouse without going outside in the frigid – below freezing weather. You gotta love technology!!
