I love this lyre. Does take a while for the strings to stay in tune but it will. Have played a few songs on it and it has a beautiful tone to it. Be patient with the string tuning and gentle with the tuning instrument make tiny movements so as not to break the strings if you are a beginner (like me). I have some experience with playing other stringed instruments, so this feels good to be able to play again and the lure is not heavy when playing. I am really enjoying it.

I’ve been been playing guitar, bass, mandolin for 45 years so I’m very experienced with tuning instruments, so I can say upfront this is not beginner frustration. I also know well enough that not every instrument will play the same, especially a mass produced one so I am speaking to the one I received. The tuning pegs were so tight it made it impossible to tune. I was always jumping past or under the the correct pitch. It would take a min of 10 min per string of going back and forth trying to get it hit the correct pitch. Sound was nice and other than the the quality of the tuning pegs the rest of the quality was very nice. Considering that and the fact I mentioned before that not all instruments play the same, my tuning problem could be isolated I gave it 3 stars.
