I needed an 8.4V AC adapter to test an old video camera I was working on. I set the voltage on the power supply and everything was working perfect until the power supply randomly spiked the voltage (on its own) to 30 volts and then 24 volts. This made the camera “pop” and never turn on again. Disappointing and unsafe.

I certainly see what people were saying about the hair trigger knob, easy to miss your voltage setting and sometimes takes a few tried back and forth to dial it back in. Once it’s dialed in I initially notice a little warble in the voltage but that tends to only be a fraction of a volt up or down but it eventually settles into place after a few minutes.
Been running mine at a steady 10 volts running a Freenove ESP32 Breakout boards’ vertical 5v rails without issue for about 6 hours now, no problems with voltage drift or any kind of overheating. I have other uses in mind, but I wanted a good solid burn-in test before I trusted it with anything more expensive.
As for documentation, there was none, and the tips just have letters on them, no descriptions provided.
My advice to other potential users, avoid the 7″ black cable unless you’re absolutely certain the device you’re using it on is inverted (reversed polarity, plus is minus, minus is plus) as that will fry your toys in a heartbeat. The supplier really should consider tossing in at least a brief warning of that, paper’s still cheap.
It does what I purchased it for and luckily I’ve outgrown kids (or rather they’ve outgrown me) and am too busy right now for pets, so I don’t have to worry too much about the hair trigger knob.

The output voltage is inconsistent when testing with a voltmeter. Power supply might say 5V but voltmeter is reading 10v. Returned it.
