This scanner worked perfectly for my old 2005 Toyota Sequoia. Codes were read and then cleared with ease. I am sure there are more expensive scanners with more features but this worked great for me and I don’t need to spend a lot of money on a tool I won’t use that often.

I purchased another scanner from Amazon that was basically useless for determining why my Toyota was unable to turn over with a new battery, alternator, spark plugs, etc..
Positives:
-Large text screen is backlit and easy enough to read.
-Cable is long enough so you’re not having to climb down under the dashboard whilst using the device.
-Even with all the menu options, navigation is easy thanks to all the buttons on the device, not forcing you to use the same button for a bunch of functions.
Negatives:
-Not a touch screen device. Even at $39.99 (when reviewed), these days you’d expect even a very basic touch screen.
-Only reads codes and cannot interact with the car’s computer for additional information
Overall:
-This is definitely a better option than a device that requires an app for your phone. Recommended.

This is a handy little diagnostic tool. It’s very simple to operate. Find your OBD2 port on your vehicle – it’s usually somewhere near the driver’s side, under the dash. Turn the vehicle’s ignition on and the scanner will automatically connect to your system.
The instruction manual is clearly written and the user interface is friendly enough for most people to understand. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the test you want to perform and then press OK. To go backwards in a menu, press the “Exit” button. There’s a lot of information you can get from your OBD2 port. For example, move the cursor to the “Read Codes” icon, press “OK” and all error codes, if any, will show up on the screen. If it’s an error code that can be cleared, you go to the “Erase Codes” menu and clear it from there.
Overall, this is a great little diagnostic tool for novices and pros alike. If the error is something you can’t fix yourself, at least you’ll have a little knowledge when you bring it in to your mechanic.
Definitely recommended.

Great deal on this tester. Easy to use! Saved me much headache since auto parts stores will no longer provide the codes when your engine light is on, not in NC anyways…

This is a good tool to have when diagnosing and reading your car’s codes when fixing it at home. Why waste time going to a shop if you’re able to do it at home?
What I like about this ODB scanner is that it’s all-in-one. Everything is on the device, so I’m not fumbling for my phone, getting my phone dirty, or even searching for my phone and downloading a sketchy app. Having everything all in one makes it easier to use whenever I need without being dependent on anything else. Usage, it’s easy to use, plug-in, and do the check. Reading the codes is easy, and you can concentrate on those fixes for your vehicle.
